Warner Bros and MPAA Pull The Hangover Part II Trailer From Theaters [UPDATED]

Yes, that trailer above which was being shown before Source Code has been pulled with no explanation given. I don’t really see anything wrong with the trailer I mean it’s The Hangover, if you saw the first one you know what it’s about and the MPAA even approved it, see the green card at the beginning? This trailer is #2 and it will be replaced with #3B and will be shown before Scream 4. After the jump you can see the notice from Warner Bros.

UPDATE: Warner Bros told Entertainment Weekly “in our haste to meet the placement schedule for this trailer, we failed to properly vet the final version with the MPAA. We acted immediately to correct the mistake and removed the trailer from screens.” The part where the monkey is nibbling at the bottle of water in the guys pants is a sexual act and therefore not permitted for kids under 17 and since Source Code was only PG-13 that was the problem. Apparently the studio has not received any complaints though.

    So weak!

What happened to Red Band trailers before movies? You’ve bought your ticket for the Rated-R movie, yet the trailers have to be squeaky clean to appease a PG-13 audience? WTF!

    • I’ve always wondered that myself, if I go see a rated R movie I would rather see the red band trailers as well.
