Before there was The Lord of the Rings, there was a completely different adventure. An adventure born of the same mind, the same pen, the same genius that was J.R.R. Tolkien.
The book called “The Hobbit” laid out many of the events which led up to The Lord of the Rings and showed us many of the characters which would play a huge role in what is arguably the best series of fantasy novels in history. The books which introduced us to elves, dwarves, orcs, goblins, trolls, dragons and the grey wizard – Mithrandir, Gandalf.
Yeah, pretty much the most awesome shit EVER!
The story of The Hobbit, while I won’t go in to much detail, covers the first adventures of the hobbit named Bilbo Baggins. As Gandalf convinces the young hobbit to go off on his great quest, joining 13 others on a journey to – ok, I’m not going to say – We get to meet such legendary figures as Golem, Smaug the dragon, Thorin and Elrond.
The book was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading and I’m very much looking forward to getting to see the movie series, which is being produced and directed by Peter Jackson, the man behind The Lord of the Rings trilogy and will encompass 3 films, much like it’s predecessor (which is actually its sequel).
Yeah, that’s enough to make you go mad so watch the trailer below and start getting hyped up for some more time in middle earth.
