The Hobbit Trailer: The Desolation Of Smaug

Bilbo looks pissed. Wonder what he’s so angry about…

The new Hobbit trailer has finally hit the web, providing fans of Middle Earth with their first glimpse of the newest Peter Jackson movie due out on December 13, 2013, The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug.

Orlando Bloom is back! Excited yet? Yes? No, well luckily there is also a nice glimpse of Smaug the dragon at the end, alas, there is no Benedict Cumberbatch voice to be heard. But we can wait until the movie releases to hear Kahn in full Smaug form.

The follow up to The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey picks up where the first left off, with Bilbo Baggins and his merry crew of CGI fighting dwarves and wizard continuing on their quest of walking, shooting arrows and hacking away at goblins and such.

An Unexpected Journey was pretty much exactly as you would expect, so even with a Rottentomato score of 65%, we’re still looking forward to more of the same. Check out the trailer below and click through the breakdown of the trailer after that to see exactly what “more of the same” you’ll be getting come December.

Now take an unexpected journey though the new The Hobbit trailer to fully understand what you just saw by clicking through the slides, starting with 1 of course.
