thanks for this post, i love GOW 3, and the online gaming is freken awesome, but releasing download content a month after game release? with second dlc the next month? ridiculous! its more than the actual game, and suggests either incompete game or ridiculous money making scam, worst part is.... you have to get the dlc to keep up with the online play, cos many fanboys will buy ot then you left behind not able to join them online

epic ball sucking

This is becoming a bad fad, the DLC came out the moment the game came out, which can only mean that it was already on the disc and you have to pay money to unlock it. How much bullshit is that? Some of these skins were even readily available in the beta. DLC (the way its being done these days) is fucking poisoning the industry.

Look, kid, if you don't understand the principle of setting a bad precedent, that's really not my or anyone else's problem. A bad education system, and terrible parenting maybe, but my problem? No.

If you can't however, understand what setting a precedent like...selling skins for $45 dollars does, well, personally I hope it sells well on the 360, because it's not going to stop until children like yourself wake up one day and all DLC is as expensive or more, than the actual game you're playing.

Skins used to be something you could make on your own, then skins became something that Capcom charged $5 bucks a pop for, now Epic is charging $45 for a skin-pack. See how that becoming popular may not be in gamer's best interest?

They're not a luxury item, the skins are all available in-game. They're simply selling you content you could unlock on your own, for a price that most expansions sell for.

I agree with this, completely. I wrote an article a while back about DLC in general and the tone was basically that. It is the fault of the "victims" for setting the precedent and allowing it. I, for one, choose to vote with my wallet.

Agreed, it's really gamer's fault for setting the precedent that such DLC is to be tolerated. Ya'll have made this bed, and as it becomes worse and worse over time, you'll have to live with it.

$45 bucks for weapons skins, that's absolutely absurd. And so completely laughable.

I can see how, in ways, they're doing it right. They're going to make a lot of money from DLC that they might otherwise not make on secondhand used game sales. Despite that, I did not get a good feeling when I looked at what weapon skins I had unlocked and saw dollar signs everywhere. It gives me the impression I bought a partial game, or something. I think the experience would be a little better if I didn't feel like I was being heavily marketed to in that regard.

If I can interject here...while the pricing is a bit out of whack, skins are a luxury item to the game that becomes a person's own personal reason for buying or not. While buying all of them seems a bit silly, I see no issue with someone buying a skin they really like that reflects their personality. Same reason I have zero issue with people buying avatar clothes. Note, I don't buy avatar clothes and I currently have no plans to buy a skin, but I don't particularly see the harm in this example. There are a bunch of skins that you can unlock already, and just more that are paid based....if the only way to get another skin was to buy, that would be different, but they made like 20 skins. I doubt Epic would've made such random non-universe based skins if DLC wasn't a thing and just kept us with the 6 or so more appropriate ones.
