Today a bunch of cool kids, including myself, got access to the Dead Space 3 demo. I was kinda surprised because their web site fucked up during the registration process and I figured all was lost. But it was not! Because I love you, I went through and recorded my adventures and present them for you. Check them out below!

Honestly, I wasn’t incredibly excited about playing the game. As a horror game trying to be an action game, I didn’t think it exceeded in both scares or action. There are a lot of interface quirks designed to make mundane stuff like applying med kits and stasis upgrades incredibly unnerving since the game doesn’t pause while you’re doing performing those things. At the same time, it chokes up the pace of the action at a time when Halo or Gears of War have action game pacing down pat. Having to surgically dismember enemies is kinda fun for a bit, but you’ll see that when I switched to the rifle, I had more fun dispatching foes. Also, wasn’t a big fan of the fixed third-person perspective, especially when tons of stuff is going on. Hrm.

Looks great, though. Vistas and special effects are pretty great. Gather your own impressions down yonder.
