hehehe, yes, I am very aware of who DaVinci is and I know he was an engineering genius. I just prefer my period movies to maintain the period and this movie completely killed it.

We know that DaVinci envisioned the helicopter in 1483 but that doesn't mean the writers should have the license to put an Apache attack chopper in the film and make it fly over everyone, wrecking shop and launching missiles.

On top of that, they modeled technology we don't even have today.

The issue I have is them using the name and foundation of an incredible, legendary story and making a farce of it.

I would have the same reaction if someone redid Moby Dick and made laser harpoons or if they'd used sniper rifles in Braveheart...It just cheapens the story for me.

Now if it had been presented as a steampunk story or a fantasy adventure that didn't ride the coat-tails of the Three Musketeers legend, I would have been ok with it. I feel like they used name recognition as a way to sell a b-rate movie.

Rob--I'm sorry you walked out--I LOVED it & stayed for the WHOLE movie--even though the credits!!!
Why did you ask about the flying ship? Were you not paying attention at the beginning when they were in DaVinci's vault? You DO know who DaVinci was, don't you? He was a creative, artistic genius & designed inventions that were years ahead of his time--why not a flying ship??
Oh, btw, The sword fight between D'Artagnan & Chefort was intense-too bad you missed it!I can't wait for the next TM movie!! I'm soooo happy that I don't listen to movie critcs...:D

I wouldn't consider him a highlight, by any means. One can't deny, though, that his name carries weight.

I had hoped that the inclusion of an actor with a solid career would make up for so many who are relative unknowns but, as I said, my expectations were pretty low.
