The Microsoft Surface Launches In Eight Days, Has Three Big Problems
I honestly thought of a Pop-tart when I saw this picture. I have no idea why.
Next Thursday night, Microsoft will be spending a bunch of money bringing their in-house tablet to the world. Not only will your eyes be blasted with ads, but Microsoft will be setting up pop-up stores for hot impulse sales for Microsoft’s senses-blaring Windows 8-slash-Surface release. But despite Microsoft’s monopolistic success with Windows, their huge foray into fresh new tablet form factors, ones that don’t involve a huge desktop and a hefty monitor – is still far from guaranteed (meet: Windows Phone). They have some big hurdles ahead as they launch into the holiday season.

HERE’S AN IDEA! Make The Next Unreal Tournament A MOBA!
Take a moment to think about the possibilities…
I am a fan of Unreal, though not necessarily as strong as I was back in the early to mid 2000’s, and I will say this: I felt like Unreal Tournament 2004 had the best offerings in terms of gameplay, really, though it was still feeding off the fumes of 90’s shooter fame, when everyone else wanted to take FPS games into a more quote/unquote realistic direction. UT 2004 had variety, color, and just enough campiness and gore to make it a fun, interesting and a diverse shooter for the time; at least to me. Read the rest of this article…
‘XCOM: Enemy Unknown’ Review: Who You Gonna Call?
These Floaters will be the least of your worries.
I’ve dreamt of this game for years, nay, decades. The original X-COM: UFO Defense, which holds a cherished place in my heart, was often mimicked, even by its own sequels, but never exceeded. Dreams of battling aliens as an under-supported and demoralized soldier in the X-COM filled my head as a kid. In the sixth grade I’d zone out and draw maps when I had to stop a mission half-way through. In high school, I envisioned deploying a squad to a sunny farm where heavy explosives could send a barn exploding into splinters with incredible detail. The franchise has been in limbo for so long that it was doubtful that anyone would grant my dreams the light of day, much less by the prestigious creators of Civilization. The full game is far more impressive than the ultra-tutorialized demo lent on and while this isn’t what I envisioned a new X-COM game to be after so long, I can’t hold that against Firaxis.
Well, not entirely anyway.

Check Out the Assassin’s Creed III Multiplayer Trailer
Peekaboo!
Assassin’s Creed III is my most anticipated game of the year so I get excited every time I get an email that has to do with the game. Today, Ubisoft released the multiplayer trailer. Playing online in the other games was extremely fun and nerve wrecking at the same time. You know, walking around trying to stalk your target and also watching your back everywhere. Anytime someone would walk towards me I would start to freak out thinking they were going to kill me. Read the rest of this article…

Xbox Dashboard Update Incoming: Internet Explorer, Music & More
Internet Explorer? What?
Microsoft rolls out an updated dashboard every fall. Sometimes they are huge updates and sometimes they are more subtle. ‘Decoding Deepak’ Review: 74 Minutes Explaining Very Little
“What do you think of this street?” “The street is both here and not here, its-” “Yeah, okay dad.”
I’m familiar with the name Deepak Chopra, but not so much about his philosophies. Half-way through this documentary, which assumes you have some sort of acquaintance with his lectures or books despite spending a good portion of time trying to explain them, I decided to discover what exactly was the big deal about Deepak Chopra. And now having seen it, I still don’t know.

Dexter Season 7 Episode 3 Recap – “Buck The System”
Open wide, Blondie.
We’re back with another recap of Showtime’s killer serial Dexter. The moral of today’s episode is: A Serial Killer Can’t Change His Spots. Blood spots, that is. If you want to see Dexter kill a bunch of random people (in his mind), plus weirdly flirt with Yvonne Strahovski from NBC’s Chuck, then this is the episode for you.
