Check Out Dishonored’s Interactive Choose Your Own Adventure Trailer
To kill or not to kill.
Bethesda has just released an interactive video for Dishonored. A choose your own adventure, the trailer offers a full series of interactive videos – including a branch that allows for a non-violent playthrough. I’ve gone through it a few times trying out the violent and non-violent paths. It’s a pretty slick way to show off the gameplay and what to expect from the game. I got to tell you the spring razor traps are awesome! Read the rest of this article…
Facebook Is A Chair, Hits One Billion Users
Facebook, chairs. Facebook, chairs… Okay, now I get it.
It’s hard to believe, but just three years ago, Facebook was only a fifth of its current size, which still dwarfed any social network ever created to that point. The idea that having that many people onboard at a time created a sense of ubiquity. This was a social network that was appealing to far more than fifteen year olds and rock bands, this was something your grandma could use. And grandma showed up, and your brother and your cousin came, too. Now Facebook, even with its purging of fake accounts, can now claim a billion active users a month. One. Billion.

All Xbox. All Music. All the time.
October is a big month for Microsoft. Redmond has a new operating system on the horizon, new Windows phones to launch, Surface tablets to sell, and a new Xbox dashboard update to push out. Amid all the hoopla, let’s not forget about little ol’ Xbox Music, Microsoft’s rebrand of Zune. Set to officially launch on October 26th, Xbox Music will offer free ad-supported music streaming, among other things.

YouTube Adds New Appeal Process for Copyright Disputes
It’s a start.
One of the best pieces of news that has come from YouTube since HD 16:9 videos is this, the new appeals process for copyright disputes. Currently YouTube uses Content ID to match copyright videos and automatically strike the uploaders account, remove monetization and even block the video worldwide. I absolutely despise this process because it puts the burden of proving you own the copyright because a company told YouTube they actually owned the copyright and they probably didn’t have to show proof. What Is Epic Games Without Cliff Bleszinski?
CliffyB in 2000.
I’d heard the name Cliff Bleszinski before PC Gamer featured him as a New Gaming God in November of 2000, but I wasn’t quite sure what his angle was. This was a guy who’d done a colorful platformer (Jazz Jackrabbit) and come off the colorful, yet thoroughly monotonous first-person shooter Unreal during his time at Epic Games, a North Carolina developer he started with at the tender age of seventeen. But with twenty years of service at the Gears of War shop, Cliff Bleszinski, known by his old frag handle, CliffyB, is leaving. What is he taking with him?

Ubisoft Announces Assassin’s Creed III Season Pass
God Save the King!
Ubisoft announced today a season pass for Assassin’s Creed III. This season pass gets you all five upcoming DLC packages when they release at no additional charge including, The Tyranny of King Washington. The Tyranny of King Washington is an all new single-player campaign that lets you experience an alternate history of the events following the American Revolution. “History is our playground – and AC teams have always loved playing with historical facts and their consequences as a way to better understand a time period,” said Sebastien Puel, Executive Producer at Ubisoft. “While Assassin’s Creed III concentrates on history as it happens, we wanted to take some liberties with this DLC and tell you how things ‘could have happened.'” Read the rest of this article…
Nokia Takes a Colorful Swipe at Apple in New Ad
Yellow is the new black.
Nokia has joined Samsung and other smartphone makers in cracking wise about Apple’s mama. In the following animated ad released yesterday on YouTube, Nokia pretty much calls Apple’s base of über loyal iPhone users a bunch of soulless drones. Yeah, that’s a HUGE stretch, I know.

MoviePass Is The Netflix For Movie Theater-goers. Are You In?
The web site’s not that exciting, but the service sure seems like it.
While many of us have embraced subscription pioneer Netflix for our movie and TV show-watching needs, you’re still limited to whatever setup you’ve got at home and whatever Netflix has available, which, and let’s be fair here, there’s still a lot of content holes there. So what options does the theater-goer have for a subscription? What happens to the person who still wants that big screen experience? Well, Moviepass might have your best option.
