From The Forums… The Bad Entertainment Confession Thread

C’mon, you know you enjoy Pretty Little Liars, right? …right?

This is the thread to confess the bad entertainment that you enjoy. You know what I’m talking about. Some call it a guilty pleasure, some call it Dubstep, but whatever you call it, it is something with no artistic or social value whatsoever, and yet you still find it entertaining and secretly enjoy it. Well, you’ve kept the secret long enough. Confess your entertainment sins and God will have mercy on your soul. Maybe.

iPhone 5 to be Announced on September 12th, Rumor Roundup

Oh, that’s clever, the 12 makes a 5 out of it’s shadow

I swear this is the last post until the announcement of the iPhone 5 on September 12th. That’s next Wednesday. We know this because everyone except for us was invited to Apple’s event. So the main thing we are positive of, is that Apple will start accepting pre-orders right away and that it will probably be available on the 21st. Now for the stuff that is most likely but not confirmed. Read the rest of this article…

Apple, Motorola, Nokia: Every New Phone In The Universe To Be Unveiled Soon!

Nokia’s new shiny Windows Phone, the Lumia 920

This is the absolute worst time to buy a smartphone. Like I mentioned in an article earlier this year, this is the point of the year where all of the key players are announcing their new flagship devices for the holiday. If you had your eye on a One X or iPhone 4, you better wait until the prices drop even further because they aren’t going to be worth much in the next few weeks. So who’s bringing goods to the table right now? Let’s show you…

Creator of Halloween Film Franchise Discusses Why We Love Horror

Have Shatner Mask, Will travel…and stab…

Why do we pay to watch scary movies?

Irwin Yablans, creator of the “Halloween” films that forever changed the genre, says the answer’s easy.

“When done right, a horror movie evokes an involuntary response involving fear, excitement, repulsion and fascination,” says Yablans, (www.irwinyablans.com), author of the new memoir, The Man Who Created Halloween. In it, he details his rise as a successful independent producer, sales chief for Paramount Pictures and head of Orion Pictures. His masked creepster Michael Myers, who debuted in 1978, spawned a wave of iconic horror characters, and a new way to do business in Hollywood.

Revolution Review – “Pilot” – The Best Kind Of Post-Apocalypse

Revolution Review – “Pilot” – The Best Kind Of Post-Apocalypse

Heroes, villains, but no two-headed cows.

I’m kinda tired of the bleak post-apocalyptic wastelands that frame so many movies and games and TV shows. If there’s going to be a cataclysmic world-ending event, must everything be leveled? Must everything be completely hopeless? Well, after Revolution’s cataclysmic, world-ending event, people didn’t nuke each other off the face of the planet, they devolved into fiefdoms lined with vicious bandits and encroached on by the militiamen of new primitive nations. It’s a fantastic recipe for a crazy new Big Network sci-fi drama.

RollerCoaster Tycoon Coming to Nintendo 3DS

Roller coastery goodness and peanut butter. What?

Today Atari announced RollerCoaster Tycoon 3D will be out October 16th! Chris Sawyer’s original RollerCoaster Tycoon came out in 1999 and is one of the best selling PC franchises of all time, selling over 11 million copies. It’s only right to bring this bad boy to the Nintendo 3DS and make it portable. RollerCoaster Tycoon is incredibly addictive. I remember building a coaster that no one would ride, it made me a little sad. There are also tons of fun RollerCoaster Tycoon crash videos online to check out. Read the rest of this article…

Samsung Stranded A Blogger Thousands Of Miles Away From Home

There’s been an amazing batch of announcements out of Berlin’s IFA expo, which is essentially the German CES, but the strangest one had nothing to do with product announcements. Clinton Jeff, a blogger for Indian publication Unleash The Phones, won a contest sponsored by Samsung India to bring him all the way to Germany to cover the event. He was assured he would be covering the event as a ‘professional blogger’, but when he got there, well, things got weird…

Demo of What a 4″ iPhone Screen Would Look Like

Can I haz more than 4 inchez?

We’re getting closer to the launch of the new iPhone that a lot of people are waiting for. Me included, waiting to see if it’s going to be better than what the rumors are or if I’m going to be buying a new device. Anyway, the folks over at Mac Rumors put together a cool video that shows what the 4″ screen would look like with the home screen, apps and video compared to the iPhone 4S. Like I said, I’m still not impressed with a taller screen but I’m still holding out for the official announcement. The specs include the 4″ screen at 1136×640 and a 16:9 aspect ratio.
