‘Silent Hill: Downpour’ Review – Not Quite Left Out To Dry
This review was brought to you by FleshEatingZipper comic artist Cody!
Like a long awaited rain in the desert, another Silent Hill has come to pass, bringing a new story, a new character, and a few changes to the formula that so many people have lauded as a true horror-fest filled with deep dark secrets, cults, and psychological introspection. But does this installment do the trick? Or are we yet again met with disappointment? Well, let me say that, despite all I’ve heard about the game, having played it myself, I’m not entirely disappointed really, and in fact, knew from the get-go that it wouldn’t really be the same Silent Hill we all knew and loved back in the day. I like to think I can embrace change on this one, and I hope you can respect that, as I tell you what I think….

Could You Disconnect From The Internet For A Year? Would You?
If you’ve never connected to the internet, subsequently letting it invade your way of life, a question like this isn’t going to apply. There are still millions of people out there who have no idea how much the globe’s data network can augment their lives. But for those of us who were weaned on it, the prospect of leaving can be a scary one. The Verge’s Paul Miller – and benefactor of that pyramid thing I’ve been working on – set out on an epic journey: leave the internet entirely for a year. Obviously this seems nigh-near impossible for someone who works on a tech news site of all things, but what about you? Could you do it? Would you even want to?

It Didn’t Take the Internet Long to Crack The Dark Knight Rises Viral Campaign – New Trailer Also!
Earlier today, like 8 hours ago Warner Bros launched a viral campaign for The Dark Knight Rises. The goal was to get someone to submit a photo of the area via Twitter or email which would then in turn unlock a frame in the latest trailer. Read the rest of this article…
The Five-Year Engagement Review: Love the One You’re With
The Five-Year Engagement isn’t a bad movie. It isn’t even a mediocre movie. It features an awesome cast, a talented director of comedy, and a solid screenplay; it also benefits from bearing Judd Apatow’s brand. And yet, it lacks something I can’t quite put my finger on—a bit more irreverence, a little more raunch, some additional poignancy. There’s just something keeping this from being a legitimately good movie.

Lets All Block The Pirate Bay Because There Are No Other Sites to Pirate From, Right? Right.
I don’t understand how governments work 90% of the time with bills like SOPA and CISPA that get proposed then voted for. Well UK’s High Court in London ordered ISP’s in the country to block The Pirate Bay. Read the rest of this article…
‘Jacked’ Review – Not The Book Grand Theft Auto Deserves
Despite becoming a major form of the entertainment industry with blockbusters like Grand Theft Auto or Call of Duty, there haven’t been a whole lot of great books written about gaming’s ascent — unless you like retro gaming. Yeah, Nolan Bushnell founded Atari, which basically created the home console market. Yeah, Miyamoto was a small-time artist at Nintendo who went to become the company’s creative visionary. But when the world receives a book dedicated to one of gaming’s most influential franchises of the past decade, one hopes that it’s a stellar, out-of-the-park experience, especially when it comes from Masters of Doom author Dave Kushner. Unfortunately, this book hardly doesn’t do the controversial, landmark series any justice at all.

Building Oceana: The Verge’s Minecraft Pyramid – Week Three
This is part of an ongoing series chronicling the construction of Oceana, an epic Survival-built megastructure on the Vergecraft server. Be sure to check them all out!
Week One – Week Two – Week Three – Week Four – Week Five – Final Week
It’s hard to believe it’s already been twenty-one days since we started this project. My Minecraft statistics say I’ve put about nine and a half days on the Vergecraft server in the past two months, which by itself ranks as one of my most played games ever. After capping the pyramid last week, this last shift consisted of more menial, tedious tasks such as completing the infrastructure on the lower levels. That isn’t to say we didn’t accomplish some cool tasks in the other spaces, such as Happypizzza’s completion of the external glass casing along the entire first level (that’s a lot of glass!). Last week we only had two squares (of the total fifty-five) built and now we’re at roughly triple that. So what went down in Oceana this week? Read the rest of this article…
Safe Review: Balls So Big He Can Barely Walk
Now here’s an oddity: A movie that works in spite of a completely stupid screenplay. Jason Statham rampages across New York City killing triad gangsters, Russian mobsters, and corrupt cops in Boaz Yakin’s Safe. This flick is chock full of good old fashioned ‘80s style action with minimal CGI and an emphasis on stunt work and Statham’s innate charisma.
