Spending Some Time With Sniper Elite V2 – Including Gameplay Video
Yes, folks, it’s time to talk about Sniper Elite V2 (The demo at least) and tell you what I thought about the upcoming sniper title from Rebellion and 505 Games.
Before I get into the meat of it I will tell you this: If you can’t handle gore – including flying chunks of bone, teeth, hair and eyeballs, you’re going to want to give this one a pass.
If you can hack it, read on!

We’ve Gone Mobile, Well Kinda
On the first of the year we launched our new website/logo design and introduced comics. That stuff was months in the making and was supposed to have a mobile site as well and also new forum design. Obviously that didn’t happen. I’m happy to say that if you are on iOS or Android the mobile theme looks the way it should, Windows Phone 7 users (all two or three of you) not so much. We use a custom font and it’s not supported yet, sorry. Read the rest of this article…
The Innkeepers Review: The Worst Part Is the Waiting
Just as I was ready to write off watching any low budget horror fare in the near future (thanks to seeing the dreadful 7 Below), along comes director/writer/editor Ti West with The Innkeepers. This delightful little flick isn’t revolutionary, but it’s charming, well crafted, and occasionally chilling. It lacks a sustained sense of dread often essential to a great horror film, but I allowed the movie to weave its spell over me, and I ended up liking it quite a bit.

Microsoft to Preview new Music Service at E3
There was some confusion last night when Microsoft “updated” their Zune software and removed the ability to search and download Windows Phone 7 apps from the application. This falls in line with some rumors that Microsoft may be giving Zune, as a brand name, the ax. This is now proven to be exactly the case as The Verge has gotten exclusive news that Microsoft will be debuting a new music service at E3 this year.

Sorry Dropbox, Google Drive Won
I’ve been a Dropbox user for the past four years and it’s been an incredible service. Kelly and I have used it regularly to swap art and documents on our various projects over the years and Cody and I use it on a regular basis to work on the comics (which will return sooner than later!). You drag your files to it and it syncs across all of your devices easily, it’s wonderful. Unfortunately for Dropbox, I’ve been a Google user for twice as long, biting down when I was invited to the early Gmail beta in 2004. I had some doubts that Google’s new Dropbox-ish cloud storage service wouldn’t be able to match, but now that it’s finally out for the masses (except Kelly) it wasn’t a difficult switch.

Building Oceana: The Verge’s Minecraft Pyramid – Week Two
This is part of an ongoing series chronicling the construction of Oceana, an epic Survival-built megastructure on the Vergecraft server. Be sure to check them all out!
Week One – Week Two – Week Three – Week Four – Week Five – Final Week
The problem with building a megastructure so far from civilization — especially one whose first stages involve creating a framework of hundreds of similarly-designed tunnels, diagonals, and nodes — is that the project can be repetitive and alien. Many of Oceana’s levels aren’t really all that different from each other and until now, there was no real way to make your mark aside from an addition to the expanding (and still quite temporary) resource hut that serves as the external production facility. For the second week of Oceana’s development, it was time to turn an eye to making the massive pyramid something bigger than a work site: home.

7 Below Review: Stumbling Around in the Dark
The mafia needed to launder some money. That’s the only explanation I can think of for the existence of 7 Below, this week’s straight-to-DVD turd starring Val Kilmer and Ving Rhames. You’d think a movie starring Val Kilmer and Ving Rhames couldn’t be all bad. You’d be wrong. I sure was. I desperately want to say something semi-witty or insightful about this movie, but I can’t. Fuck this movie. Just…fuck it.

Space – Soon We’ll Be Deep In You, Thanks To Planetary Resources Inc. And Google
Google, Ross Perot Jr. James Cameron and asteroid mining? In space?!
What would you say if I told you that deep space exploration and resource gathering were in our [relatively] near future?
Now what would you say if I told you that the government space programs of the world had absolutely nothing to do with it?
Well, that’s exactly what’s going on. Corporate and privately funded deep space exploration is on the horizon and I, for one, think it’s about damned time someone stepped up to the plate and started looking outward, toward the future.

Spotify’s New Android App Finally Doesn’t Suck! But…
Two months ago, I wrote about the terrible headache I was having with Spotify. While the desktop app has been relatively stable (and it’s been bettered since that writing, too) the mobile app has always been a rubbish, barely-tolerable experience. Between a non-optimal layout, frequent crashes, and connection issues, it was dreadful to use if you weren’t on wi-fi. Yesterday, Spotify introduced a beta for their upcoming Android app and it rights almost all the wrongs of its previous iterations, but it introduces a few niggling things as well. So how is it? Let’s break it down.

Lenovo – The Jetpack: When Do Gets Done
Are you an inventor? Do you like to get things done? Even if you answered no to either one of those questions, listen up and listen up good. Raymond Li had a dream. A dream to build something that everyone said couldn’t be built. A jetpack. But this is no ordinary jetpack and he needed a little help. Read the rest of this article…
