New Forum & Comment System! Awesome Details Inside!

Whoa, huge update! It’s been far too long since we have made any significant changes to the website and this is one of the cooler one. We now have a forum! Well we had a forum before but it looked like the old site because no one was using it because it was all set up in a hurry. Now we have a new shiny forum that actually looks like our website!

The new forums are Vanilla Forums. We chose to use Vanilla for a few reasons, but the main one being it has a comment system. This comment system syncs with the forums, so the forum will have a post for every new article on the website and any comment made on the forum will show up on the website and any comment on the front page will be on the forum. So when commenting you are creating a forum account so don’t be scared to come talk with people in the forum!

Also, Facebook comments are out the door.

Here are some cool things with the forum:

• Badges – you get badges for posting, receiving reactions, etc.
• Reactions – you can agree, disagree, lol and mark comments as off-topic
• Q&A – If you are asking a question you can create that instead of a standard post
• Bookmarks – You can bookmark posts and come back to them later
• Mentions – you can mention people in posts by @[username]

The forums and website are hosted in different places so if one goes down, the other shouldn’t. Of course we will let people know if we are having issues on our Facebook or Twitter.
