It was revealed this weekend during the Walking Dead panel at C2E2 that horror master Stephen King is in talks to write at least one episode for the show’s second season.
I know…clean yourself up and then read on.
Stephen King has had a long standing relationship, in the film biz, with Walking Dead executive producer Frank Darbont. The two of them worked together on The Mist, The Green Mile and Shawshank Redemption (best movie ever? Probably.). Now, we have our fingers crossed that they will collaborate again in the megasupersmashblockbusterhit series which we all fell head over heels in love with last year…well, all of us but Nick but we all know he has no soul.
It was also revealed that the second season is planned to be very dark and even more brutal than the first which has my loins burning like a gallon of gas on a beach party bonfire.
We will see Andrea deal with the emotional aftermath of her suicide attempt and yearning to avenge her sister’s death, the development of the complex relationship between Rick, Shane, Carl and Lori and maybe…MAYBE the group’s arrival at the prison.
According to the panel, the writers are now working full swing on the second season and are developing a number of different story lines. We are being told that reaching the prison in season two may not be in the cards. It will depend on how the rest of the story lines unfold.
We’ve also learned that there’s a very good chance of new characters being revealed in the new season, including The Governor, Tyreese and Michonne.
The second season of The Walking Dead is coming this fall to AMC. Watch it…
