Cloud Atlas Six-Minute Trailer Reveals Tom Hanks And A Beautiful Mess

Posted by on July 30, 2012 at 8:37 am

Based on a popular quasi-anthological novel of the same name, Cloud Atlas tackles six different storylines at once, something that’s explained to something puzzling degree in the video below. Above epic landscape pans floats a lot of existential gibberish about how we’re all the same people and we cross timelines and we’re not people, but we are, and so forth. I know that none of us are excited about more Reloaded/Revolutions monologues about the universe, but I’m hopeful that they can tie all of these elements together without being long-winded. Cloud Atlas is also supposed to be the largest production ever made from Germany, my country of birth, clocking in at $100 million and featuring an ensemble cast, including the aforementioned Hanks and Halle Berry. Of course, that doesn’t seem like much compared to the $250 million Warner Brothers put into The Dark Knight Rises, but when you consider the size of Germany, I mean, c’mon now.

Come to your own conclusions below!
