Dead Rising 2 is the the second installment in the Dead Rising series. After recently completing the first game, I knew instantly that I had to play Dead Rising 2. I completed the first Dead Rising game in roughly 10 hours, and likewise, it took me the same amount of time to complete Dead Rising 2. I thoroughly loved it though. The storyline was compelling, and I really enjoyed playing the Terror is Reality multiplayer mode which will be discussed later.

Developed by Capcom and Blue Castle Games, Dead Rising 2 puts the players into the shoes of Chuck Greene, the game’s protagonist. The game is set in Fortune City, which is modelled after Reno, Nevada. Chuck Greene is a former national motocross champion who is faced against hordes of zombies and psychopaths. When the outbreak begins, Greene realizes that he must fend for himself, while taking care of his daughter, Katey.

If you liked the crisp and colorful environments from the first game, then you’ll love the ones in Dead Rising 2 even more. The game has tons of stores, shops and kiosks, each containing beautiful colors, lots of goodies, and even enemy looters.

Dead Rising 2 offers tons of new features which the first game lacked. For example, you can combine weapons into even stronger weapons. Such combinations include the “Defiler”, which is a combination of a sledgehammer and a fire fox. Very powerful weapon. Another combination is the “Spiked Bat”, which is a baseball bat with nails jammed into it for super extra damage.

In addition to weapon combinations, Dead Rising 2 offers new multiplayer modes and a co-op gaming experience. The multiplayer mode is Terror is Reality, which pits four online players against each other in a series of “tournament-style” events, and it’s bucketloads of fun.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed playing Dead Rising 2. A compelling storyline including stunning visuals and addictive gameplay makes Dead Rising 2 a fantastic and memorable experience. If you’re looking to play a short yet intriguing game, then Dead Rising 2 is definitely for you.
