Yeah…I bought it, I played it, I reviewed it.
Video after the jump.
So let’s just get this out, short and sweet, nice and pretty.
Crysis 2, developed by Crytek and published by Electronic Arts is a really…really pretty game. It’s smooth, it feels great and it moves at a good pace.
One of the things that I like is the realistic number of enemies. I haven’t hit a spot, yet, where I was flooded with enemies or hit with the endless spawn push. Squad sized groups are present in spaced out locations and placed so you can’t afford to simply try walking up on them and unloading your guns. You need to have a bit of finesse and strategy.
I think looking at the video above speaks for itself, as far as graphics and gameplay so I’m not going to waste hundreds of keystrokes on describing what you can see.
What you can’t see is how crisp everything fits together. The graphics, the sounds, the ambience…it makes for a really good gameplay experience.
And lets talk about the sound for a minute. The sounds are crisp, realistic (the echoes of gunfire are amazing) and well produced. They definitely provide a great deal of immersion and are absolutely spot on.
I’ve played some FPS games that I liked better but not many and that’s reflected in the score below. This is a solid shooter with lots of reasons to love it. Don’t hesitate to check it out.
