If you remember a couple of months ago, we released an article about combat in Mass Effect 3 and how it would be different from the combat in previous releases. We also included a nice video showing how some of it would work.
Well, now BioWare has released another video, this time through BioWare TV, showing us even more.
Check it out!
So what we know so far is that BioWare has made some pretty serious changes to the third person combat structure for Mass Effect 3. Gone are the days of run and gun, with the occasional stop behind a stack of crates to charge your shields back up and heal, now we’re talking about ducking, rolling, covering…all of the things that make a good firefight a good firefight.
We’re also looking at some new biotic powers which will be available to the player, some of which are showcased in the video, below. A video which, by the way, makes me very happy in the pants.
The only unfortunate thing about all of this is the fact that the trilogy ends here. After Mass Effect 3, there’s nothing on the horizon but some DLC. Hopefully, though, BioWare will take the IP and do something serious with it. A Mass Effect MMORPG, perhaps?
Of course that’s raw speculation on my part but I wouldn’t be too terribly shocked if it happened…Hell, I’d be super happy but with the impending release of Star Wars : The Old Republic it is, unfortunately, unlikely. They have included some multiplayer elements in the game, though, and have announced that the citadel will, once again, play a role in the game.
This is hotness.
But that’s enough out of me. Check out the video!
