Hands on With Medal of Honor Warfighter Multiplayer

While waiting in line for this demo, Keith and I both were talking about how the game looks like all the other war shooters on the market or coming out. Medal of Honor Warfighter uses the Frostbite 2 game engine so the map takes destruction. After getting briefed on what was going to happen in the demo, we got to watch a video showing the different classes that were available.

The game type we were playing was a capture the flag type of map and instead of talking with your entire team, you would only talk to your teammate. See I didn’t know at first that it wasn’t only Keith and I on our team but 4 other people. Naturally I started shooting at our teammates right away, lol.

With this game mode you can see your teammate through walls with a green outline no matter where you are on the map. If you die, you can fall back to spawn and wait 10 seconds to respawn or you will respawn right behind your teammate if they avenge your death by killing the enemy with the red outline.

While playing the game it felt more like a war zone than any call of duty game I’ve played. The issues I found out with the game is that if you are an offensive player you can only get so far before you are just holding down the map because you are not allowed anywhere near the spawn of the other team. If you go over there you will be notified and your gun will not work. The other major issue was, yes it’s cool to be a fire team and have one teammate to communicate but with any team game, you need to communicate with everyone. There were many times where I would run into a room with other teammates that I couldn’t communicate with and didn’t know what to do and would go away and then die. I don’t think I had any kills during the demo and I’m not that bad at first person shooters.

It will be interesting to see if they have anymore demos closer to release because I’m still on the fence on this game.
