South Park: The Stick of Truth…Another one of the things we got the pleasure of getting to see at E3. Trey Parker and Matt Stone proudly introduced the game immediately after Microsoft’s discussion of Smartglass and lauded the game as having terrible graphics and a great South-Park story.
Well, now we have a whole mess of screenshots (Ok, it’s not really a “mess” of them, it’s 4 but that’s all there is) to show you, which came available today. The screenshots will give you an idea just how terrible the graphics are (they match the show, and Trey and Matt said so) and the game description below will give you an idea of how good the story will be…South Park style.
From the perilous battlefields of the fourth-grade playground, a young hero will rise, destined to be South Park’s savior. From the creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, comes an epic quest to become… cool.
You begin as the new kid in town facing a harrowing challenge: making friends. As you start your quest the children of South Park are embroiled in a city-wide, live-action-role-playing game, casting imaginary spells and swinging fake swords. Over time the simple children’s game escalates into a battle of good and evil that threatens to consume the world.
Arm yourself with weapons of legend to defeat crabpeople, underpants gnomes, hippies and other forces of evil. Discover the lost Stick of Truth and earn your place at the side of Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny as their new friend. Succeed, and you shall be South Park’s savior, cementing your social status in South Park Elementary. Fail, and you will forever be known… as a loser.
Introducing South Park™: The Stick of Truth™, available on March 5, 2013 on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 3, and Windows PC.
