Worms: Revolution. This Bait Bites Back

The worms go in, the worms go out, the worms play pinochle on my snout.

Worms…when most people think of worms they think of squiggly little dirt-eating annelids who can survive being chopped in half (and actually become 2 squiggly little dirt-eating annelids) and make for some good fishing.

If you’ve been a gamer for a while however, the word worms may just make you think of squiggly little machine gun toting annelids with bad attitudes and air strikes at their disposal.

Those are the ones we’re talking about here.

Team 17 has brought back the smash hit worms franchise with the new upcoming release of Worms: Revolution, scheduled for release later this year, which we got some hands on time with at E3 back in June.

What I can tell you at this time is that the game has received a pretty major face lift. That’s not to say that it looks or plays very differently from past iterations of the franchise but rather that it has been given more scale, physics and depth. You can now see that the worms are worm-sized and the environmental objects around the battlefield emphasize that very well. You also have deep 3D objects, physics (including some nice water physics) and fully destructible terrain.

It’s pretty sexy.

We invite you to watch the video below and get a feel for the cold, calculating nature of these new worms, and the destruction they are capable of handing each other. When you’re finished with it you may never view worms in the same light again!
