Working title.

Do you hear that? That’s the sound of the rumor mill spinning up. Everything we are hearing is pretty much what we already know is coming or it just makes sense. Let’s run down the rumors on the next Xbox known as the Xbox Infinity, Xbox Loop, Project Durango or the Xbox 720.

First, then name. It’s been rumored for a long time that it would be called the Xbox 720 just because of the name of the current console. Then we heard rumors that the development kits being sent to developers were called Durango. Now, there are some other rumor names, Xbox Infinity and Xbox Loop. The rumor now is that it will be called the Xbox Infinity and that there will be a smaller version called Xbox Loop.

The specs. So we know there will be an upgraded version of Kinect bundled with it for sure. It’s going to need a bigger hard drive since we are transitioning into a digital era where we will no longer buy discs. Probably will be rocking a Blu-ray drive for higher capacity for discs. They aren’t going to pull the digital only cord for a while. It’s also rumored to only have a slightly faster CPU than the Wii U.

Announcement and release. When the original Xbox was announced, Bill Gates did so at the Game Developers Conference. The Xbox 360 announcement was it’s own thing aired live on MTV and then shown off at E3. It’s rumored that they will be announcing it at E3 2013 but Nick thinks they will have their own announcement before then and then show it off at E3. I don’t care as long as I get to touch it at E3. We will see it holiday 2013, around November and Nick will wait in lined for 24 hours just to get one.
