If you’ll remember, a few weeks ago we reported about an amazing gaming event which is being held to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and give something back to the vets who have given so much for us. Well, the time has come and the GamePocalypse 2013 charity event is underway with live streaming, giveaways, raffles, events and all kinds of stuff.
Read on for more details.
When we heard about the GamePocalypse 2013 event, we jumped at the chance to get involved as sponsors. I think the Wounded Warrior Project is an amazing charity and a great idea, so having a chance to get involved was awesome. The decision to participate, which took about .006 nanoseconds, was a no-brainer.
Finally, the time has come to make this thing happen. The entire event will be streamed live on Twitch.TV, so if you’re interested in checking it out, click here to go to the feed. Be aware that this isn’t just any live stream, though, this is a stream hosted by Azure Twilight, which can rock up to a hundred different streams at the same time, with switch-on-the-fly capability, so you’re always going to be where the action is.
And what’s this about giveaways? Well, there will be plenty of that going on. We got a hold of a box of goodies from Sony Online Entertainment, who were absolutely awesome in helping us get together a bunch of prizes. (On top of that, they actually came through unlike some other publishers, who shall remain nameless) As a result, we were able to hook the event up with PlanetSide 2 merch, including hoodies, t-shirts, posters, dog tags, stickers, and just a ton of other stuff. There will also be a number of Station Cash giveaways during the event.
If you would like to check out the official website for the event, which will give you a chance to donate to the charity, or just see what’s going on, head over to http://www.bottomlineguild.net/planetside/gamepocalypse-2.
We’d also like to give a big nod to the other event sponsors, including Running With Scissors, Bossrigs, 5th Planet Games and Rounds Down Range, as well as all of the player groups who came together to help pull this thing off, including Bottomline Gaming, Z Company, Azure Twilight, Black Widow Company, No Nonsense Gamers, Agony, RageQuit, 7th Cav and our very own Sons of Odin. We may be enemies on the battlefields of the games we play but in real life, we’re all down to help a good cause, so kudos to all of you!
Now get out there and support a great charity!
