Blizzard, you may win me over. While the other nerds in high school were playing Magic: The Gathering in the cafeteria, I was reading PC Gamer. I never had an ‘in’, and none of my friends did, either. So when Blizzard announced their newest game, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, would be a relatively modest card game, I immediately deflected. But y’know what? I’ll give it a shot.
Featuring tons of Warcraft characters, Hearthstone is animated and, apparently, nub friendly for people like myself. The game is free to play, but you’ll be able to buy virtual card packs to boost your deck, which are terms you should pick up even if you’re totally me. It goes into beta this summer (and you can sign up for the beta here) with ambitions of releasing later this year, which means you should expect to play it some time after the PlayStation 5 releases. I’m kidding. A little.
