New York – April 22, 2013 [FleshEatingZipper]: Tel Aviv-based electro-dance band Terry Poison will soon release its new “Mad Birds, Ultimate Disco” videogame app, the first-ever interactive handmade music videogame for smartphones.
Hand-built by the members of Terry Poison, the new videogame app features the band gliding through their own sequin-filled disco-world collecting “magic capsules” for points, all the while jamming out to their new “Mad Birds” single.
The rules are simple: users control Terry Poison band members Louisa Kahn, Anna Landesman and Bruno Grife and glide them through the night, collecting points by gathering as many “magic capsules” as possible. The more capsules players collect, the more blurry the screen becomes.
On the inspiration for building the videogame app: “The band’s inspiration stems from our various backgrounds in music, fine arts, fashion and technology,” says Terry Poison. “Our home base of Tel Aviv has the world’s highest concentration of start-ups, so just by walking down the street one is most likely to return with some new possible collaboration and an insane idea. Magic happens when people from different worlds team up.”
The videogame was filmed and produced by Hooligans production agency (Tel Aviv), which used Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, Aftereffects, HTML5 and Objective C softwares to create the project.
Terry Poison is hoping to raise a figure of $7,500 to complete their new “Mad Birds, Ultimate Disco” videogame app on Indiegogo.com, which will be released as a free download for smartphones upon its completion.
Music fans can catch Terry Poison live this summer at various international music festivals, including Plugfest (Israel), Kazantip (Ukraine), City Beats (Bratislava), Cannes Film Festival and 1234 Festival Shoreditch (London).
