The Onion predicted this. Maybe this guy got the idea from The Onion. A talented software developer outsourced his work to a Chinese company. This wasn’t just one full time job he was working multiple jobs making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in salaries. I’m not sure how many jobs he was working but he was only paying $50,000 a year to the company he was outsourcing his work to.
So how did he do this and work multiple jobs? Well a lot of companies now allow you work remotely. So this guy would just have his company do it and then send in the code right? Nope. He shipped his security key fob to this company overseas, which is a ever changing PIN that you enter along with your password. The company would login to his computer and server at work and do his job. So this is where he screwed up. There was an audit done because of weird anomalies, like people logging into their network from other countries. What this guy should have done was set up a VPN at his house and then have the outsource company login to his home network and then to login to his work. It would then look like he is logging into work from his house and he may not have been caught.
If this wasn’t written very well it’s because I’m outsourcing my job also. Or it’s because I suck at writing. You tell
