Does that look familiar to you? If you saw this page after trying to visit a website earlier today then you encountered a huge bug that pretty much shut down thousands of websites for about 30 minutes.
The outage only affected anyone that was logged into Facebook, which is most Facebook users nowadays because it is so deeply rooted into other sites that you visit. The bad thing about this is that most people would’ve never thought about logging out of Facebook to see if it fixed the issue and how could a site tell you to do that if you can’t get to it?
You realize how much power Facebook has over the socially connected internet when something like this happens. Facebook didn’t really have much to say on the issue either stating, “for a short period of time, there was a bug that redirected people logging in with Facebook from third-party sites to Facebook.com. The issue was quickly resolved, and Login with Facebook is now working as usual.”
