Tesla’s Model X CUV Delayed A Year Because Model S Is Just Too Popular

I’m not what one would call rich by any means, but if I were, I’d be pretty hot for a Tesla. The company’s Model S sedan went through the media ringer recently (and got stuck at times), but it appears that the company may be feeling more optimistic now than ever. In fact, they say the potential for Model S sales has become such that they’re pushing their crossover Model S to next year so they can get more cars out.

I’m glad Tesla at least had the foresight to think of the next model ahead. A CUV is an attractive option in their portfolio, complete with Falcon Wing rear doors that let a man, say CEO Elon Musk, stand inside the car entirely. It’s unfortunate that we’ll have to wait that much longer for the Model X, but it’s also nice to see that the Model S will also be seeing some enhancements along the way. Still, if you put down your $5,000 reservation today, you can expect to pick up your Model X by the end of 2014. At the earliest.
