You know how most brick and mortar retailers have the option to ship your order to the store or have in-store pickup? It makes things easier when you don’t want to wait for your online order to get shipped to you directly. Last September, Amazon began installing lockers in 7-elevens and other places to give people the option of picking up their package at a convenient time, sometimes on the same day. Well, Walmart is now testing this space for their own stores.
I have no idea why they’re doing it, you can already ship to store or pick up in the Walmart, so why do they need to add lockers? I mean, it’s Walmart of all places. I don’t ever want to go to Walmart; it’s always crowded and just not a fun time. I’d rather have a package waiting for me when I get home. I know some people who live in apartments or other specific residences have issues with their packages getting gaffled or walking off, but is it really an inconvenience to pick up your order from customer service? You know people are going to struggle trying to figure out how to work the lockers and there’s always going to be a line to access them. People already have a hard enough time with self-checkout and Redbox machines at Walmart.
I don’t know, if any company can make the locker thing a thing, it’s Walmart.
