Perhaps I’m crazy, but when a phone goes up in size, I assume that it’ll receive a spec upgrade to go along with it. Beyond Samsung’s upcoming 5-inch Galaxy S4, even beyond their 5.5-inch Note II, the company is bridging the gap to their tablets with two new phones, dubbed Galaxy Megas, that are obviously compensating for something.
Running Android 4.2 with Samsung’s TouchWiz (hrmph), the Galaxy Megas will ship in 5.8 and 6.3-inch varieties because a market supposedly exists for phones this big. In fact, Samsung is so confident that a market for theses exists, it appears that they’re going to dive for the budget-conscious consumer with dual-core processors, decent-but-not-great cameras, and mere 720p displays. Specifics on release aren’t available yet, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see them ship later this summer for a carrier near you.
