Looks like Conan O’Brien is gonna have company! Taking place a year after the original Finding Nemo, and releasing twelve years after that film, Disney and Pixar’s newly unveiled animated feature will once-again star Ellen Degeneres as the blue fish with short-term memory issues. I’m actually kinda excited despite not really enjoying Finding Nemo when it released.
Oh, N, you’re always such a hater! Nah, I was just really over the ‘kid gets lost, parents and kid search for each other, narrowly missing once or twice, let’s remake An American Tail‘ story. It took me a while to get past that before I could really enjoy Al Brooks and Ellen Degeneres as a pair of ‘odd couple’ fish trying to find their little clownfish Nemo.
The plot, lifted from the press release that Disney sent us (which you can read here in its entirety):
Director and Pixar veteran Andrew Stanton [of Finding Nemo, Wall-E, and, uh, John Carter fame – Ed] takes audiences back to the extraordinary underwater world created in the original film. “There is no Dory without Ellen,” said Stanton. “She won the hearts of moviegoers all over the world—not to mention our team here at Pixar. One thing we couldn’t stop thinking about was why she was all alone in the ocean on the day she met Marlin. In ‘Finding Dory,’ she will be reunited with her loved ones, learning a few things about the meaning of family along the way.”
