Sniper 2: Ghost Warrior (PC/PS3/Xbox 360) Review: Blowing Up Heads And Having Fun Doing It

Too soon?

Too soon?

A while back I talked about the impending release of Sniper 2: Ghost Warrior and dropped a clip with some gameplay footage. Well, the game has released now and I’ve had a chance to play through the whole thing, popping domes, splitting wigs, making the pink mist and generally busting fools up.

Sniper 2: Ghost Warrior is, at the end of the day, a really fun game. It has some issues, but overall it is a lot of fun to play and a lot of fun is always good.

So lets talk about the issues, which boil down to some issues I have with the graphics. The water in the game is, unfortunately, lifeless and unresponsive. It kinda looks like plastic wrap that you are clipped through. Also, your spotter buddy in the game, well, his ghillie suit doesn’t really look like a ghillie suit. It kinda looks like a cross between an imitation Christmas tree and a fern.

There are other niggling little graphics issues like that but they don’t really detract from the gameplay at the end of the day.

The game is a lot of fun, as long as you’re expecting to get out there and shoot people in the face. You’ll definitely get to do a lot of that. If you like stealth-based games, you’ll also like this because there is a huge stealth element to it. You need to avoid being detected because, for the most part, you’re just toting a sniper rifle and a silenced pistol.

If you’re a total graphics snob, you may take issue with this game but if you’re in it for the experience of sniping fools, I think you’ll find it hits the spot perfectly. I’d say definitely give it a go! Also, be on the lookout for DLC!
