2. First-Person Is An After-Thought

You can play from the first-person perspective in a lot of MMOs, but in an Elder Scrolls game, it’s a requirement. Bethesda recently showed off that mode (you can scroll in or press “X” to access it) and it’s just as bizarre to play as it was to watch as a video. While the build I played didn’t have the on-screen hands implemented yet, it also felt floaty and extremely sensitive, like I was swiveling an object in a game as opposed to playing an actual character. On top of that, bandits often flipped over me, which makes a lot more sense playing from third-person, but doesn’t feel right in a more personal view. They have a year to refine it, but not being there righto ut of the box, it’s not going to feel like home again.
