Pins – Keep

I didn’t realize that pin collecting was really a thing until Penny Arcade started their “Pinny Arcade” branded collection with special edition pins that can only be obtained by attending individual PAXes or other very special events – like high-end tiers for their DLC podcast Kickstarter. Bethesda handed me the lanyard/three-pin set you see above, my first swag of the show, and I was instantly mad that no one else in the convention center had anything to go along with it (although I heard Gamespot did). Compounding the issue was the fact that the lanyard wasn’t compatible with the E3 badge, so I had no incentive to wear it around. Look, gaming companies, you can disagree on just about everything, but can we please come up with a pin collector system? Through away all the promo crap you were going to buy when shopping through that one site you go to for this stuff and just get really good pins so we can start collecting them. That should be a gaming standard.
