E3 2013 – Microsoft, What Were You Thinking?

Did you think it was a good idea to launch your console with draconian game ownership rules? Did you think that being vague and confusing about how games can be traded-in or loaned to friends was a good idea? Are you selling the Xbox One to regular consumers or are you selling it to game publishers?

Did you think that the best way to launch a new game console was by alienating every gamer who has ever bought a used game or loaned one to a friend? Do you even buy your own games, Microsoft?

Did you think it was a good idea to hand Sony all of your cards? Did you want to start E3 with flagging momentum for the Xbox One? Over the next five months, are you going to stubbornly stick to your pricing, connectivity and used game strategies, even as Sony’s PS4 gobbles up consumer mindshare?

Do you have a Plan B for the Xbox One, Microsoft?
