Well. No one saw this coming. The social-music hybrid site that everyone embraced at one point is about to make its big come back tour. But will it be enough to garner people back into a dying service? Get ready for the new Myspace.
What do you get when the style of Microsoft’s Zune software is blended with the layout of Pinterest? The answer is quite obvious if you’ve seen the demo video. The new Myspace offers a new, sleak way to sharing music, video, and personal baggage.
I know what you’re thinking. You deleted that Myspace account years ago. The last thing you want to do is register again. Based on the video, everyone will be able to log in with Myspace’s evil nemesis – facebook (and Twitter). That move was incredibly smart if you ask me. In a way, they are no longer competing with facebook but the other way around albeit indirect. People will flock to Myspace and its new minimalistic interface. Myspace just looks fun and sexy. I think we can all agree the word most associated with facebook is “addicting”, not the former. So the tables have been turned, facebook. Your stocks have gone to shit, your ads are annoying and timeline (’nuff said, right?). It’s your move now. Or was that messaging bug your big move?
