Doomsday Preppers – The National Geographic Survival Show

Ready? Set. Survive!

So, one of my buddies turned me on to this show called “Doomsday Preppers” – a series on the National Geographic Channel which hooks up with individuals and families who all have one thing in common. They’re all preparing for the end of the world, as we know it.

A while back, I wrote the ultimate zombie apocalypse survival guide, in which I outlined many of the things you’ll need to do to get by once the undead start roaming the Earth and trying to take a big fat bite out of anything that moves. So far, none of the people who have been featured on the show have mentioned flesh eating ex-humans as their reason for wanting to prepare for the apocalyse but we all know that’s what they really mean when they say “polar shift” or “economic meltdown”…Right? I mean, Hornady – makers of fine amunition – have picked up on it and then we have all these whackos running around, taking bath salts, and eating each other so. It’s coming. I’m telling you.

Anyway, the show started season 1 in 2011 and is preparing to start up season 2 on November 13th of this year (9pm e/p). The show follows people and takes a look at the steps they are taking to prepare for armageddon and then has a group of experts rate their preparedness levels, giving feedback and then allowing the people to respond. Sure, some of them are a little weird but the show is chock full of really good survival tips and ideas and if you’re at all interested in being around after the fecal matter impacts the rotary circulator, it may be something you want to check out.

The more you know, amirite?

Check it out on the National Geographic channel. If you don’t, don’t blame me when a pack of zombies eats your testicles.

OK, OK…or ovaries…sheesh!
