Double XP Weekend and Triple Station Cash? OK!

Double XP Weekend and Triple Station Cash? OK!

That’s right, folks, Sony Online Entertainment has announced and confirmed that tomorrow, Friday the 21st 2012 will kick off a double XP weekend for Planetside 2 and will also be giving users triple Station Cash.

YAY, TRIPLE STATION CASH!!

So here’s the deal. The triple station cash will give you triple value on all the station cash you buy today. If you spend $10, you would normally get 1000 station cash but for tomorrow, if you spend $10.00 you’ll get 3000 station cash. $50 = 15,000 station cash and $100 = 30,000 station cash.

The cool thing about the Station cash is that it is available for use in ALL Sony Online Entertainment titles so if you are a Planetside 2 player and later decide to start playing Everquest 2, you can use your Station cash there. Conversely, if you’re an Everquest 2 player and buy Station cash there, you can turn around and use it in Planetside 2 later.

It’s also going to be useful for later titles. I think we are safe to assume that Dragon’s Prophet will use station cash, as will Everquest Next so as time goes on you’re going to have plenty of opportunities to spend it. You might as well stock up when they’re tripling up on it!

Also announced is that this weekend, Sony Online Entertainment will be offering double XP in Planetside 2. If you’ve been on the fence about trying this title, let me tell you that it’s an amazing game and if you like FPS games, you’re going to love Planetside 2. You can check out my review on it and make up your mind from there and if you’re still not convinced, let the double XP be an excuse for trying the game out. It’s free so you really don’t have anything to lose.

So Sony Online Entertainment is hooking us up with some really nice presents for Christmas. Feel free to take advantage of them!

And now I think it’s time for some nice tea.
