I’m a Volition fan, I want them to win all the time. When THQ bubbled away like a desperate wicked witch, I was happy to see the Saints Row and Red Faction developer go to Dead Island publisher Deep Silver. While still attached to their former owner, THQ’s newly-installed President Jason Rubin told the studio to stop working on their Enter the Dominatrix DLC and start working on a full game. The results? Well, a game that looks a lot like The Third.
That’s not necessarily a bad thing because that game was pretty awesome. As a spokesman for the company put up on Twitter, this is a title still in pre-alpha and still five months from release – which means, effectively four months from completion because of certification and print lead times. That’s not a lot of time to make any drastic changes to the game. Of course, the fact that the game’s premise is based on the fact that as President of the United States, you’ve been abducted by aliens and forced into a simulation of Steelport, the city from the last game, doesn’t help things. Plus side? Crazy stupid awesome powers. We’ll see more at E3!
