Ultimate Black Friday Game Deals Guide 2011
We want to help you not suffer as much on Black Friday so we put together this nifty gaming guide. We’ve spent hours looking at store ads and rumor blogs to put this guide together, just for you! You can thank us by sending something you find to us (Kelly wants the new My Little Pony game). Games like Battlefield 3, Batman: Arkham City & Gears of War 3 are getting slashed in half to $30. Usually retailers don’t do this but it’s a move to get more people in the door to shop. “I would expect retail to be more aggressive this holiday, as the market is seemingly saturated with top releases, and consumer discretionary is still under pressure,” said National Alliance Capital Markets analyst Mike Hickey. What other gaming deals can we expect? Read the rest of this article…
Saints Row: The Third Review – It’s Like Grand Theft Auto, Except Fun
There are parts of Saints Row: The Third that couldn’t escape the tell-tale traits of a criminal sandbox game. I don’t know why, but when I threw the driver out of a moving truck and the camera swiveled around it as I gained control, I knew this game – and its predecessors for that matter – wouldn’t exist without the success of Grand Theft Auto 3. In many ways, this takes the groan-worthy design elements of Rockstar’s franchise and twists them to ‘hey, wouldn’t it be cool if…’ angles. What if every car you jacked could be stored at your garage, modified to the nth degree and coated in a candy pink paint, then retrieved from any of your safe houses? At any time? What if you got achievements for running over hundreds of people and driving in the wrong lane and doing powerslides like Project Gotham Racing? What if the narrative was insane? That, my friends, is Saints Row: The Third in a nutshell.
The Video Game Voters Network – What’s This All About?
For a few years now, the Video Game Voters Network has been working behind the scenes to protect the rights of gamers and game developers. While many sites have written about the VGVN in the past, I figured it was time for me to step up and give you MY take on the situation.
Founded in 2006 by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), who also owns and operates E3, the VGVN has been fighting court battles all over the United States in an effort to protect games and gamers from the evil forces who like to compare our gaming to things like rock and roll, The Beatles and crack fueled satan worship.
Modern Warfare 3 – Will Lag Issues And Connection Failures Be Its Cause Of Death
Call of Duty – Modern Warfare 3 or COD – MW3 as it is commonly shortened is yet another in the long list of first person shooters holding the Call of Duty moniker.
The Modern Warfare franchise has a long history of connection issues and lag, in the first few days after a release but with the newest entry into the series, those issues have continued on for many players and, for some, has caused them to walk away from the game entirely.
Read on for more.
Saints Row: The Third – ‘How To Be A Boss’ Guide And Strategies
It’s hard to review an open world game and Saints Row: The Third is no exception. So while we’re waiting on that (soon!) I figured the audience at large would be interested in some opening hints on how best to manage their character. Newcomers will no doubt be flattened by the sheer amount of customization and tweaks in the game (see my blue-jacketed, British-accented avatar above) and it’s easy to get overwhelmed. No matter! Inside I provide you with some tips on how best to wade through your ascendancy to greatness!
Modern Warfare 3 Survival Mode Strategy
Survival mode is one the new additions to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and one of my favorites. Think of it as Zombies from Call of Duty: Black Ops but without zombies and having to barricade back up. It’s just waves of enemies coming at you and it’s not just light troops; you have dogs, Juggernauts, suicide bombers, suicide bomber dogs, claymore experts and helicopters. Sometimes it’s all of them in the same wave, sounds interesting doesn’t it? I’ve played Survival mode more than anything else in the game and have learned the best ways to survive. Are You Ready To Buy The Xbox 720 Next Year? Let’s Address All These Rumors At Once
Gee whiz, it feels like it was just yesterday that I sat alongside a Best Buy for thirteen and a half hours to pick up the Xbox 360 when it launched. Except that was, y’know, six years ago. Microsoft has made huge strides creating (and subsequently tearing down and rebuilding) the Xbox 360 console through drastic conversions that have made it the best-selling console in North America for most of the past year. They’ve got a ton of games under their belt, developers seem to be super happy with the hardware, but what’s this? While still very much in the red on this console, rumors are now flying around that Microsoft is set to bring out a whole new console as soon as next year. What could this new console probably be and are we really ready for new hardware now when it seems we can still get so much more out of the 360? Let’s go see!
