Shadowrun Online Launches On Kickstarter

The world can ALWAYS use more Shadowrun!

Shadowrun. First it was a very successful pen and paper RPG, then it was a video game, then it became a not-so-successful multiplayer shooter, and now…Well, now it’s trying to become something else.

Jordan Weisman, the creator of Shadowrun, launched a kickstarter earlier this year and raised $1.8 million for a new turn-based tactical RPG called “Shadowrun Returns” which will launch on tablets and PC’s. Now he’s launched another kickstarter for Shadowrun Online which will come from Austrian developer; Cliffhanger Productions who are working with Harebrained and Catalyst to create the Shadowrun Universe at www.shadowrun.com.

Metro: Last Light – E3 Theater Demo

Russia…Man, it’s gone to the dogs…

The folks at THQ showed us some really cool stuff at E3. Among the things we were shown was a closed-door, super secret, totally hush-hush, we could have told you about it but we would have had to kill you, highly classified, top secret gameplay demo of their upcoming second release in the Metro IP – a title called “Metro: Last Light”. Now, they’ve seen fit to release footage of the gameplay demo to the public.

I’ve never made it a secret that I wasn’t a huge fan of the first Metro title. It wasn’t bad but at the end of the day, it was just another shooter in a vast, dry desert of shooters and there wasn’t much to set it apart. The follow-up title, however; Well, that’s a different thing, entirely.

I’m afraid to look so one of you is going to have to do it for me.

Ikariam – Strategy On The Web, That WORKS! Also, Ambrosia Giveaway.

Build your island, expand your territory, grow your empire.

The people at Gameforge contacted me about Ikariam and asked me if I wanted to check out their game, after a major update. I thought “meh, I don’t really care for web based games because they always seem like they’re not quite finished and they don’t really ever seem to work very well”.

I do, however, enjoy reviewing games – good or bad – so I figured I’d buckle in and take her for a spin. To be honest, I’m glad I did.

The Older Gamers – For Older Gamers!

A few days ago, another gaming group came to my attention and they’re also an old gaming group but in a different way…They’re not old because they’ve been around for a quarter of a century, they’re old because in order to be a member, YOU have to have been around for a quarter of a century.
