What Are YOU Playing While Waiting For The Planetside 2 Beta To Start?

NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m going to admit it…It’s driving me absolutely insane. I’m waiting with bated breath, like a kid before Christmas. I’m antsy. I’m on the edge of my seat. I’m dying with anticipation. Every time I get an email I jam in to my email program as fast as I can get there, hoping it will be the notification that the Planetside 2 beta has begun and it’s time to get in there and split some wigs.

SplashBang – Graphics, Sound, Video…Cool Company

First off, let me start by saying that this is NOT a paid advertisement or endorsement of any person or company…I’m writing this article because I like the company and I like what they’re doing.

A few months ago, I wrote an article about a video which was done by one of our fans, the art series which he had done and the company he was starting. In that time, his vision has come a long way and his company is getting off the ground. I took some time to revisit what he’s been up to and I have to tell you; I’m impressed.

Just A Quick Word On Sex And Sexuality In Gaming

Just A Quick Word On Sex And Sexuality In Gaming

oooooh…Sexay!

Earlier today I read an article by a guy who sits as the editor in chief of a magazine which focuses on gaming and development, in which the author discussed, at length, the use of sex and sexual imagery in the design and marketing off games. I’m not going to name the author or the article, because I’m not here to pick an internet slap-fight with a guy whose magazine I neither read, nor care about.

Throughout the article, the author condemned the practice, though he doesn’t seem to have the man-parts to just come right out and say so, so his condemnation took the tone of a mild scolding and some ridicule of industry decision-making. Since I DO have the man parts to share my opinion, though, I’ll do just that.

Future Consoles To Go Dedicated Digital Distribution? Some People Think So.

Which one will the next generation use?

So there’s a lot of speculation flying around in the industry as to the future of consoles and game distribution. Some people are saying the next generation of consoles will have gamers getting their software through conventional means – i.e. going to the store and picking it up – while others believe that the new generation will see games being distributed exclusively digitally.

I, for one, think this is a really silly debate.

Sony Computer Entertainment Acquires Gaikai

Hmmm…Sony and Gaikai. This could be interesting!

Sony Computer Entertainment today announced the acquisition of cloud-based gaming leader Gaikai, solidifying Sony’s place as the premier provider of cloud based, streaming games.

Now, I know that this whole cloud based gaming thing is still new and a lot of people are very unsure about how the technology is going to pan out in the long run.

When we were at E3, I had a chance to look at Gaikai’s service and, let me tell you…It was pretty impressive!

Sony Online Entertainment Opens Registration For SOE Live

SOE Live. It’s a gaming convention where you WON’T get assaulted by the Horde.

Sony Online Entertainment today announced that it has opened registration for the 12th annual SOE Live.
SOE Live is a fan event which is basically SOE’s equivalent to Blizzcon, the annual Blizzard event at which people who play for the alliance get their asses kicked in the parking lot by Hordies…Except you probably won’t get beat up unless you bad-mouth the Vanu Sovereignty, in which case, you asked for it. This year it will be held at Bally’s hotel and casino, in Las Vegas, on October 18th through the 21st.
