Battlefield 3 Simulator AKA My New Living Room

Remember that Virtuesphere that everyone wanted a few years ago? You know that ball thing you can walk around in and was all virtual reality? Forget about it because the folks over at Channel 5 in the UK have stepped up the competition with the unveiling of my new living room, the ultimate Battlefield 3 simulator, that is as soon as I win the lottery. This ultimate simulator designed by Channel 5 and about 6 companies cost close to $800,000! But it’s totally worth every penny. Read the rest of this article…

Ever Wanted To Own A World of Warcraft Server? Well, Here’s Your Chance!

No, I’m not talking about the little private pirate servers you kids run and tweak variables and play with yourselves. That’s just sad, this is cool. After recently upgrading their hardware, some of which has lasted since the game’s tumultuous launch in late 2004/early 2005, these now-obsolete Hewlett-Packard server blades have been encased in glass and adorned with a plaque indicating the name of the server it hosted and its service period. The blades go for auction in four waves starting on October 17th with net proceeds going to St. Jude’s for kids.

Rage – The Final Review

Rage – The Final Review

You are about to witness the last, and most definitive, review about Rage. I have spent the past two weeks working out of a subway car, we call it the Fez Bar (pictured above), building this for you while Rob stands guard. It is comprehensive, it is thorough, it is pretty much everything you need. Plastered everywhere in the game’s marketing is the fact that this is indeed a game by id Software, makers of Doom and Quake. But, despite the pedigree, you’re gonna toss a lot of that out as the Mesquite-based shooter house has spent the better part of a decade assembling this post-apocalyptic adventure. Playing Rage will make other games look flat. It will make Fallout 3 look like chess. It’s also incredibly fun to play. Stay tuned for our Final Review of Rage after the break!

Android Game Review – Minecraft: Pocket Edition

Mojang, the creators of the super successful indie title Minecraft, has released a version for Android (eat that iPhone!) 2.2 or higher, with special support for the Sony Xperia Play’s control pad. Fans have been pining and praying for this moment, including me, and after waiting patiently I can enjoy the building, mining, and creating that I so love. Or so I thought.

Mass Effect 3 – A Look At Leveling And The New Combat System – Also, Co-Op Missions

The Mass Effect Trilogy will climax with the long awaited third installment on March 6th, 2012. This should give us all enough time to get a few playthroughs in before the end of the world in December of 2012, which I predict will come via a global zombie apocalypse.

We know that the combat system has been revamped and will feature squad leader style play, as featured in a trailer released a couple of months ago, which is included, below.

We also know that the leveling and RPG elements have been refined and I will be taking a look at those after the jump.

Indie Game Review – Amnesia: The Dark Descent

Amnesia: The Dark Descent will scare you. No, I mean it. It will scare the hell out of you. You will jump, gasp, swear, and otherwise scream like a little girl as you play the game, checking every nook, cranny, and alcove for a hiding spot as you run in terror, because there is no fighting in Amnesia. Just your wit, speed, and luck.

CCP Games (Eve Online) Chief Grovels, Apologizes For His Busted Ass Game.

I got an email today from the creators of Eve Online. CCP games sends me emails, regularly, because I used to play Eve and I never bothered to unsubscribe from their list because sometimes they have cool stuff to tell me.

So, in this email, there was a link to CCP CEO Hilmar Veigar Petursson baring his soul in a devblog, which I’ve quoted below. I just wonder if it’s all a ploy.
