E3 Blocks OUYA’s Booth and Calls the Cops
Can’t stop the OUYA party.
Whoa, the ESA, who runs the E3 conference, apparently blocked OUYA’s parking lot booth with a 18-wheeler trailer and called the cops on them. This is a pretty extreme thing to do. Outside of the West and South hall lobbies you can see parking lots. These are usually full of cars with attendants waving down passers by demanding upwards of $45 cash for parking but there are also a few booths that are open to the public, like OUYA. Microsoft Chief Don Mattrick Doesn’t Care About Our Soldiers
This console reserved for people with interwebs! LoL, soldier losers!
We all know that the Xbox One’s requirement to always be connected to the internet has caused quite a stir, as has Redmond, WA. based Microsoft’s inability to clearly define what rights owners of the upcoming “next gen” console will have with the software they’ve paid for.
This has, of course, gotten many people up in arms and one of the people who commented was a soldier stationed aboard a nuclear submarine who mentioned that they don’t have internet access.
And what did Don Mattrick have to say about this?
E3 Day One: Console Wars, PS4 Commanding Higher Pre-Orders than Xbox One
The wallets have spoken.
According to Amazon.com, Sony’s new PS4 is outselling the Xbox One in terms of pre-orders. The Xbox One is not far behind in second place but that just goes to show you that people are still pissed off at Microsoft for their crazy always on and DRM requirements. Johnny wrote earlier about Microsoft’s shortcomings and we talked about it in depth in yesterday’s podcast.
E3 2013: ‘Call of Duty: Ghosts’ Eyes-On
That dog is a killer.
Call of Duty: Ghosts was one of the games shown at Microsoft’s Xbox One unveiling where they talked about the new tech. The new tech including fish having their own AI and a tactical dog were quickly mocked online. Jumping into the theater to see gameplay of Call of Duty: Ghosts set a different perspective to me. E3 2013 – Microsoft, What Were You Thinking?
Hey, Microsoft, did you see Sony’s E3 Press Conference last night? Pretty harsh, huh? Did you notice how Sony systematically exposed every one of the Xbox One’s weaknesses? Did you see how the PS4’s price point, connectivity requirements and used game strategy are far more user-friendly than the Xbox One’s?
Seriously, Microsoft, what were you thinking? Read the rest of this article…
“Open-World,” “Cloud-Powered” and “Traversal-Driven” This Year’s E3 Buzzwords
Hot girls make you want to click right?
Every year you hear the same word or phrase being constantly repeated by developers, publishers and console makers. There wasn’t a clear winner this year so we are going with the top three we hear around the conferences. Read the rest of this article…
The Xbox One At E3 2013 – 5 Ways Microsoft Showed Their Ass
The Xbox One presentation left me flaccid
We had the opportunity to sit down at the Microsoft Xbox Press Briefing today and while a lot of the stuff Microsoft presented was pretty cool, they also did quite a few thing which left me feeling like they were flailing about, reminiscent of a brain damaged octopus who’d been tricked into eating a ghost chili while trying to roller skate on a sheet of ice.
Everyone in the world knows that my choice of console is the Xbox, and has been since the brand debuted, so what is my problem with the big M? I’ll tell ya!
E3 2013: 3 Reasons Why EA’s Presser Was More Exciting Than Microsoft’s
It’s a special kind of day when EA has one of the best conferences.
Typically, the best press conferences are shown by the big dawgz (Microsoft, Sony). After being “wooed” at Microsoft’s blunder bust, I began to worry about EA’s presentation. But what started out as a nervous and cautious gut feeling, ended up being the best damn presser I saw. Read the rest of this article…
E3 2013 – Mirror’s Edge 2 Has Us Seeing Red
Faith fans rejoice! At the end of their splashy presser today, EA announced Mirror’s Edge 2, for release “when it’s ready.” To me, this was the best news of EA’s conference.
Microsoft’s Approach To Indie Game Development May Unravel The Xbox One
The battle of the indies continues.
If you’re a small game developer, chances are you weren’t terribly excited by today’s big conference. Sure, Microsoft brought Phil Harrison on stage (which is still weird to see) to let everyone know that smaller, downloadable games from independent studios would still come out for the system. Of course, to prove this point, they showed off a port of the world’s most popular indie game – Minecraft – and their pitch pretty much ended after that. What a shame, because this was their time to prove their value and they got it dead, dead wrong.
