YouTube Adds New Appeal Process for Copyright Disputes

It’s a start.

One of the best pieces of news that has come from YouTube since HD 16:9 videos is this, the new appeals process for copyright disputes. Currently YouTube uses Content ID to match copyright videos and automatically strike the uploaders account, remove monetization and even block the video worldwide. I absolutely despise this process because it puts the burden of proving you own the copyright because a company told YouTube they actually owned the copyright and they probably didn’t have to show proof. Ubisoft Announces Assassin’s Creed III Season Pass

God Save the King!

Ubisoft announced today a season pass for Assassin’s Creed III. This season pass gets you all five upcoming DLC packages when they release at no additional charge including, The Tyranny of King Washington. The Tyranny of King Washington is an all new single-player campaign that lets you experience an alternate history of the events following the American Revolution. “History is our playground – and AC teams have always loved playing with historical facts and their consequences as a way to better understand a time period,” said Sebastien Puel, Executive Producer at Ubisoft. “While Assassin’s Creed III concentrates on history as it happens, we wanted to take some liberties with this DLC and tell you how things ‘could have happened.'” Read the rest of this article…

Pamela Horton, this months Playboy of the Month/Miss October, is a gamer. You are reading that correctly. It’s so weird we as guys think girls don’t play games that I have to explicitly say she is gamer more than once. Hailing from Wichita, Kansas, this German/Japanese bombshell is a huge MMO player, specifically League of Legends and World of Warcraft. She has an ELO of 1355 on Solo as a Teemo in League of Legends. Some of her favorite games of all time include, Legend of Zelda, Chrono Trigger, EarthBound, Portal 1 & Portal 2. Tim Cook, “We Fell Short,” on Apple Maps

That’s me in that blue dot!

Apple isn’t a company that apologizes so this is really surprising news. After the uproar of people complaining of the new Apple maps in iOS 6, Tim Cook issued an apology saying: “At Apple, we strive to make world-class products that deliver the best experience possible to our customers. With the launch of our new Maps last week, we fell short on this commitment. We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better.” Read the rest of this article…

New Minecraft Snapshot Overhauls Lighting System

Why is it dark over there?

The new Minecraft snapshot 12c39a didn’t add any new features per se but it did overhaul what I thought was the biggest issue in a long time, the lighting. What was wrong with the lighting? If you have to ask then you aren’t playing enough Minecraft. The issue was weird lighting shadows in the daylight that would be blacked out and wouldn’t update until you were psychically touching the blocks. Read the rest of this article…

Check Out Eliza Dushku Rapping About Her Console

What do those buttons do?

Besides being super hot, apparently Eliza Dushku is a gamer. Check her out in this music video that reminds of Natalie’s Rap, the SNL skit from a few years ago. It’s from IGN and starts out with her walking in on a couple of dudes who doesn’t think she can hang because they are talking about games, you know manly stuff. Read the rest of this article…

From the Ashes of Megaupload, Out Comes Megabox

It’s the “cloud,” the mysterious place the internet lives!

Kim Dotcom is back as promised saying his new website, Megabox, will be out soon. Megabox will be a place for artists to upload their music and make more money on it than they do with iTunes or similar platforms. Users will be able to buy music cheaper than they can from iTunes and others and even get it for free by installing an application that replaces other sites ads with ads from Megabox. Dishonored: The Tales of Dunwall, The Awakening

Let’s make a deal!

Check out the first part of a three part prequel for Dishonored showing a little more back story on Dunwall, the whaling city where plague is rampant and the city is in disarray and on the verge of dystopia. These prequels are scored by Daniel Licht (Dexter), narrated by Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick Ass) and created by Psyop, each episode was predominantly produced by hand. Each frame was a fully rendered style frame, which was then enhanced with 3D elements to add to the painterly atmosphere, dimension and depth of each shot. Read the rest of this article…
