The Walking Dead – Season 2, Episode 6 – “Secrets” Recap…Spoilers

The Walking Dead continues true to form in season two, teasing us with New York Strip and feeding us Chicken Fried Steak.

We left Glenn and Maggie last episode with the startling discovery that the Greenes are seriously bent, keeping their zombiefied loved ones penned up in the barn. Their reaction? The repercussions? The argument or explanation or reconciliation between Glenn and Maggie? Skipped via the magic of LAZY WRITING. We’ll just let all that emotional, intellectual, and moral drama happen off-screen, and pick up this episode assuming it happened, and nobody is the wiser. Cheap.

Childish Gambino “Camp” – Music Review

The fact that you’re reading this now means you’re somewhat curious about the new album Camp from Childish Gambino. Let me tell you, I wouldn’t consider myself to be a “rap” fan, but I do enjoy “underground” hip-hop. That said, I had no clue what I was in for when a good friend of mine sat me down and asked, “Have you listened to Childish Gambino yet?” I said “No.” Well, I was in for something else. Sons of Anarchy – Season 4 – Episode 11: ‘Call of Duty’ Recap – Spoilers

Either there is some kind of Rocket Launcher Merit Badge you earn in SamCro, somewhere in-between Leatherworking and Facial Topiary, or RPGs are easier to use than an IPad. This week we’re treated to an episode called “Call of Duty”, which given all the Modern Warfare 3 commercials and the episode content, would make a paranoid man consider it a deliberate product placement advertising whore move. We are building to the final episodes of the season, and both drama and action abound in this episode, but we start to tiptoe on the border of silly in the main action scene. Community Expelled from NBC’s Midseason Lineup – Our Take

Word came down from the Dean’s office yesterday that NBC’s Thursday night comedy Community has been expelled from the network’s midseason lineup. The show hasn’t been officially cancelled, and we’re told it will return at an undetermined date, but the outlook is looking grim considering the show’s poor ratings.

Community’s cast and crew responded to the news with inside jokes. Creator Dan Harmon tweeted “Streets Ahold!” to which Alison Brie responded, “Troy and Abed in the … summer?” Joel McHale continued by tweeting “Horsebot 3000 Nooooo!”

If these little quips make you laugh, then you may be one of the fans saddened by Community’s potential demise. If not, then you’re unlikely to miss the show’s brand of humor.

On last night’s podcast, Johnny and Nick went toe-to-toe over Community’s fate. One thing we agreed on is that the show changed during its three seasons. Read on for our thoughts on what Community did right or wrong.

The Walking Dead – Season 2, Episode 5 – “Chupacabra” Recap…Spoilers

The Walking Dead continues to deliver thoughtful material to fans of the genre, but needs work on its plot-to-zombie ratio. The surprise ending, as well as the short zombie encounter mid-episode, give us a taste where we want a meal.

Project Accessory – TV Review – Reality TV Gets Dumber

There’s really nothing we won’t put in front of a panel of judges, is there? In the latest reality TV dud, Lifetime does a copy-and-paste of long running fashion program Project Runway and brings us another show about fashion and drama. It’s called (drumroll, please)… Project Accessory!

I know what you’re wondering, and the answer is yes, the show is just as dumb as the name.

Read on for more.

Sons of Anarchy – Season 4 – Episode 10: ‘Hands’ Recap – Spoilers

This week Sons of Anarchy crammed more drama and character into one hour than the rest of my TV watching schedule combined. From the very opening scene, Clay kneeling and taking money from a safe, you can feel the tension and mistrust oozing out of every shot. Clay is no longer an anti-hero, or even some chaotic neutral force leading SOA. He’s just a villian, a bully, a brute, and the noose around his neck just gets tighter and tighter. The Walking Dead – Season 2, Episode 4 – Cherokee Rose…With Some Spoilers

The Walking Dead continues with more zombie apocalypse goodness.

Problem is, MW3 is releasing the 8th and Skyrim is coming on the 11th which means I have to figure out what I’m going to do…game or watch zombies.

This episode opens with a funeral for Otis, during which Shane makes up a story to “explain” his death.

National Novel Writing Month: Week Two
As Week one comes to an end, you should be weighing in at just over 8,000 words. You’re probably feeling pretty good, thinking that you can indeed do this. It doesn’t seem so hard! Then Week 2 comes. The sleep deprivation hits, you realize that you made a critical error in the beginning of the novel, and your characters are fighting for the spotlight. Well people, keep on trucking. Week two is known for “The Slump.” The slump is that point where nothing is working, or there’s a giant inconsistency, or you just hate the story and want to throw it out. Don’t.
