Barnes and Noble – Not Just for Books Anymore

According to the Chicago Tribune, Barnes and Noble is now dipping it’s feet into the consumer electronics and home products space, and a quick click over to Barnes and Nobles website confirms it. Clicking on Electronics brings up “Featured Categories” with pictorial representation such as cameras, notebooks/tablets, gadgets, and a few others. So far it reminds me of Best Buy’s website layout but with fewer options to sort a product by relevance, like price, manufacturer, ratings, etc. You know, things Amazon, Newegg, and even e-Bay have had since the dawn of time. Can Netflix Bounce Back from Failure?

Last night after I heard the news that Netflix actually lost 800,000 subscribers compared to it’s original 600,000 estimate I immediately checked out the stock value. It was trading after hours at about $86/share. Today when I checked the stock I felt like I was being stabbed in the gut and I don’t even own stock in the company. It dropped 35% from the day before’s closing bell; $119/share to $77/share, $6 billion value to $4 billion. At it’s peak it was $298/share about $18 billion value, that’s just crazy to me. Review: Once Upon a Time Pilot- Minimal Spoilers

Once Upon A Time, there was a world of fairy tales that was cursed into a world where happily ever after did not exist. That world is our world. That is the premises of the new ABC show Once Upon a Time. Starting out with the ending of the known tale of Snow White and moving forward to where the witch makes her threat at the wedding of Snow White and Prince Charming (yes, those are their names as of now). Think the opening scene of Sleeping Beauty and you’ve got the right idea. The show bounces between two realms, the Fairy Tale world and our world. Read the rest of this article…

Movie Review – The Three Musketeers – With Some Spoilers

I’ve always been a fan of The Three Musketeers…their struggle against corruption, greed, tyranny and drunken debauchery. The characters of Porthos, Athos, Aramis and D’artagnan have entertained me for hours upon hours of reading and watching films.

When I found out there was a new Three Musketeers movie being released, I was very cautiously optimistic.

Then I saw it.

Michael Jackson’s Doctor’s Attorneys Challenge Drug Expert’s Testimony – Claim Possible Suicide

Michael Jackson’s Doctor, Conrad Murray, and his attorneys are challenging testimony given by anesthesiology expert Dr. Steven Shafer, the day after he gave damaging testimonial evidence against Murray at his trial.

Dr. Murray was charged with manslaughter in the 2009 death of Michael Jackson, which was found to be due to an overdose of propofol (a hypnotic agent) and other sedatives.

Paranormal Activity 3 – Movie Review – Now With One NEW Scare! (Clearly Marked Spoilers!)

Paranormal Activity 3 – Movie Review – Now With One NEW Scare! (Clearly Marked Spoilers!)

I’m sorry, but I wasn’t aware there were ground rules when it came to horror franchises. The one I’m most offended by after seeing Paranormal Activity 3 says that ‘once you’re innovative and create some great scares, you must spend the following installments cutting as much from that same cloth as possible’. The original Activity was a decent flick for a variety of reasons. For one, it was novel. For two, there was a small inventory of characters, so there was no extraneous action or character development to drag the pace down. Finally, it spent quite a bit of time building some psychological tension. 3 spends so much time building up and building up and building up that when it finally releases, it’s a quick release and it’s over.

What Is This Chronicle Movie?

Read our review here!

In an interesting stealth unveil, 20th Century Fox brings us a trailer for the previously unknown found footage thriller Chronicle. Starring some kids that I’ve personally never heard of (except for Michael P. Jordan, aux star in my beloved Parenthood) this looks like a really cool take on what unlimited power can do to a man.
