Own Interplay’s Greatest Games, Like Fallout, For Whatever Price You Want
I can’t tell you how many hours/days/weeks I’ve lost to these games.
One of the greatest features of PC gaming also happens to be one of its greatest guilt traps: cheap games available quickly. I own the first two Dead Space games and have put 45 minutes into them, total. I’ve bought others and still not put any time into them. I own so many games and don’t play them! Well now you have an opportunity to own even more games from the golden era of PC gaming with choose-your-price/Humble Bundle-style scheming. Should you be paying attention? You sure should, here’s why.
‘Bioshock Infinite’s’ Stupid Awesome Limited Editions Are Stupid, Awesome
Look at all this crazy crap you can get!
Hey guys, look: I want Bioshock Infinite as much as you do, but I’m over “Limited”, “Collector’s” and “3D High-Definition Mega-Mighty Super-Big Commemorative Definitive Avant-Garde Collector’s High-Octane Ultra Lithium Titanium Extra Special Director’s Cut Signature Edition”s in all their excessive glory. Why? Because gaming has the bad end of the stick here. What would normally be fulfilling in a three or four-disc set for a movie with hours of sprawling documentaries about how they made it, is usually just crappy tchotckes when it comes to special editions for games. Well, next year’s big early release has two largely-similar pleasures for all your Americana-devouring nerdiness!

Oh LAWDY I love reporting news like this.

Ravaged Review – Like The Road Warrior, In Real Life, But On The PC?
GIMME THE GAAAAAAS!!
Ravaged – the new post-apocalyptic first person shooter from 2 Dawn games – released today and with that the review embargo has been lifted so we get a chance to tell you what we think about the latest entry in to the team based fps arena. I got a chance to spend quite a bit of time playing our review copy, both on my own and with the developers of the game, and here’s what I can tell you about it…
HERE’S AN IDEA! Make The Next Unreal Tournament A MOBA!
Take a moment to think about the possibilities…
I am a fan of Unreal, though not necessarily as strong as I was back in the early to mid 2000’s, and I will say this: I felt like Unreal Tournament 2004 had the best offerings in terms of gameplay, really, though it was still feeding off the fumes of 90’s shooter fame, when everyone else wanted to take FPS games into a more quote/unquote realistic direction. UT 2004 had variety, color, and just enough campiness and gore to make it a fun, interesting and a diverse shooter for the time; at least to me. Read the rest of this article…
‘XCOM: Enemy Unknown’ Review: Who You Gonna Call?
These Floaters will be the least of your worries.
I’ve dreamt of this game for years, nay, decades. The original X-COM: UFO Defense, which holds a cherished place in my heart, was often mimicked, even by its own sequels, but never exceeded. Dreams of battling aliens as an under-supported and demoralized soldier in the X-COM filled my head as a kid. In the sixth grade I’d zone out and draw maps when I had to stop a mission half-way through. In high school, I envisioned deploying a squad to a sunny farm where heavy explosives could send a barn exploding into splinters with incredible detail. The franchise has been in limbo for so long that it was doubtful that anyone would grant my dreams the light of day, much less by the prestigious creators of Civilization. The full game is far more impressive than the ultra-tutorialized demo lent on and while this isn’t what I envisioned a new X-COM game to be after so long, I can’t hold that against Firaxis.
Well, not entirely anyway.
