Bioware Segregating Gay People?
The Sith can roam the galaxy, freely. Gay people can’t. Awesome job Bioware…
Yeah, it sure seems so.
In the upcoming “Rise of the Hutt Cartel” expansion, players will have the option to enter into flirtatious dialog with their same-sex companions and begin same-sex romantic relationships with them. Bravo? Not when you find out they have to go to a special planet to do it!

The Walking Dead (PC) Season 1 Review: A Strong Zombie Apocalypse
A dinner not soon forgotten.
Telltale Games finally has a hit. When the adventure game genre was long thought to be dead and buried, some LucasArts alum – a company that made some of the best of those games – got together and formed Telltale. Focusing at first on rebooting their Sam & Max games as a series of episodic adventures using a simple engine and simple gameplay carted over from the late nineties, they got to spend most of their time developing the games, rather than the tools. Recently, they convinced Universal to let them make new adventure games based on their Back to the Future and Jurassic Park franchises, both succeeding to varying degrees. With Walking Dead however, they’ve struck it out of the park with a franchise that’s as powerful as ever and a game that sustains it. For the most part.
FEZ’s Look At Torchlight 2
A lot of people have been hating on Blizzard as of late, and more specifically the DRM behind Diablo III, as well as other aspects of the game. Yes, Blizzard can make pretty cut-scenes, and some of the gameplay videos hinted at a neat system behind it all, but I just never had the interest to buy it on Day One, the hype of it a withering sentiment to begin with, and now that it’s out and people are crying foul, there is less of an appeal for the game. I don’t portend to know better than Blizzard on how a game should be made, nor its approach to community and security, as I have no experience in dealing with a user base as large as theirs. Broad-brush social techniques seem to be the norm in that arena of development, so it’s easy to see why certain things slip through the cracks, and can damage the game in a very irreparable way.
Virtual Reality Finally Wins: Apparently, The Oculus Rift Won CES 2013
The future is here. Well, soon.
We covered the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset when it hit Kickstarter last year and while I didn’t end up sinking the cash for their developer kits, I am in love with idea behind the device. VR headsets have come and gone, but our long-awaited savior has yet to arrive. But soon it will: according to reports out of CES, the Rift’s first tradeshow, this is the real deal. I can’t wait.
New Teaser Trailer For Cyberpunk 2077
ERMAHGERD! CYRBERPURNK!!!
So…Cyberpunk.
From back in the day when I first read the book “Neuromancer” and played the adventure game of the same title on the Amiga, I’ve been in love with the cyberpunk genre of writing. Since the time I started playing the pen and paper game of the same name as this PC title (Different year, though…the pen and paper was set in 2020) I have been fascinated with the genre as it applies to gaming.
That’s why, when I heard about Cyberpunk 2077, I ruined 3 pairs of pants.
Steam Box To Run On Linux? Fanboys Everywhere Rejoice! But Wait…
On Linux? ORLY?
Ok, so a couple of days ago, Valve allegedly revealed that the new Steam Box – the modular computer which is touted to bring Steam’s massive library of games to the average HDTV – would run on Linux.
Did that really happen?
Angry Birds Star Wars (iOS) Review: Full Of Pork
A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, I was appointed to review Angry Birds Star Wars. And since then, I’ve been delaying this article for as long as I possibly could. It’s one thing to review a sequel that introduces new, improved game mechanics and an original story. It’s another thing to review a carbon copy with superficial changes that ruins an already over milked franchise.
CES 2013: Nvidia Unveils Shield Gaming Handheld, But Is There A Market?
It looks like every Xbox handheld mock turned to real life.
Last night, Nvidia brought us something new: a gaming handheld. When you think of Nvidia, you probably think of graphics cards or Tegra chips, but a whole new Android-powered console probably wasn’t on the top of your list. Marrying an Xbox 360-style controller to a 5″ multi-touch display, complete with the ability to stream games processing on your PC to your TV, or on the portable’s screen itself, Nvidia has opened a whole new door of portable gaming experiences. But, will it work when other technological marvels like the PS Vita have failed?
Retro City Rampage (PC) Review: Grand Theft Auto, If Pixel-Deep
Have you ever dreamed of an 8-bit Grand Theft Auto? Here it is, for better or worse.
There comes a point, in examining something so fatally flawed, where you wonder how deep it goes. At what point in the creation process did things go wrong? Retro City Rampage, a downloadable title for virtually every platform on the planet, seems to have gone down the wrong course in the first few moments of development. Once created to be a mere 8-bit recreation of Grand Theft Auto III, developer Brian Provinciano decided to skip around the copyright debacle and develop an original game. Then, he decided to pump it full of nostalgic references. Full. To the gills and spilling out the sides. Somewhere in there, that’s where things went wrong for Retro City Rampage.
