Planetside 2 Double XP Weekend
That BioDome is worth SO MANY XP…
We all love getting some xp for doing things in game. Whether it’s killing mobs or solving puzzles or completing quests or shooting people in the face, there’s not much most of us like more in games than getting those sweet, sweet experience points which allow us to level up and build our characters into more formidable killing machines. Even with our love for XP in games, though, I can name one thing off the top of my head that’s sweeter than any XP you’ll ever taste.
Double XP!
Why The Hate For Far Cry 3’s Co-op? [VIDEO]
Far Cry 3’s co-op looks like this, minus any drinking or the dude-bros.
Far Cry 3 is a solid game and while our review is still forthcoming, I’m a little curious about the drubbing that the game’s co-op mode has been receiving from the media. Taking an open world game and then stripping most of that away for the cooperative action seems a little anti-thetical (and honestly, less fun) than letting you and your bros wreak havoc across the landscape. Cody, Kelly and I played through the first hour or so of Far Cry 3’s experience below so you can draw your own conclusions.

They put a smiley face in the logo because it’s ironic.
It’s that time of year again! Tonight, Spike TV presents the tenth edition of their Video Game Awards, a program they dedicate as a tribute to gamers, but is anything but. The VGAs are known for not only being a showcase of new game trailers from complicit developers, a solid lineup of actual game award winners, and a show that could be best described as hugging a cactus with your eyes. We’re live blogging the event in hopes that you simply won’t watch it. We’re doing it for you. So stay tuned, the liveblog will update itself automatically below, you don’t need to refresh the page!
I’ve Finally Given In & Bought an Xbox 360 Slim *Sad Face & Tear*
I’ll miss you, buddy.
September 25, 2007, Halo 3 was released. This was the day I bought my first Xbox 360. I bought the Elite version with the 120GB hard drive for $479.99 and Halo 3. Yesterday, I traded it in for an Xbox 360 Slim with the 250GB hard drive. My Elite had no problems, it never got the infamous red ring of death or had any other issues but it was time for me to finally upgrade. Read the rest of this article…
Video Gaming “Addiction” A Mental Disorder?
Hi…I’m Rob and I’m a video game addict
The American Psychiatric Institute (APA) had been considering, based on a vote by the American Medical Association (AMA), including video gaming addiction in their updated version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder (DSM – V, being released this year). They have also considered including “IAD” or “Internet Addiction Disorder” in their new release of the manual.
So…what’s up with that?
Gabe Newell Hints At Source 2.0… In a Sense
It’s pretty damn obvious, really…
Well, for the most part anyway. Mr. Newell has not obliged us with any information directly, and to say that watching a low-res camera recording of Gabe wearing a soldier hat pulled out of a mock MannCo locked crate could only incriminate him for so much, or validate his words in so many … words. Let me clarify. Read the rest of this article…
Wii U’s Best Game – Panorama App – Will Be Available In Spring
All of this fun can be yours.
The Wii U launch has been a bit of hit and mostly miss with native games that are barely taking advantage of the hardware, few effectively taking advantage of its tablet (a complaint that could be leveled at the DS when it launched) and ports of high-profile games from other platforms not performing as well and definitely rating low. So what does the Wii U have up its sleeve beyond more Mario-themed games? Why, it’s the best Panorama App you’ll ever ever use, probably, and it’s out this Spring.
New Music & Video Apps Launch on Xbox Live Today
The dashboard…
One thing I love about my Xbox is that it’s my media hub. Up until recently I didn’t have cable and would use Hulu and Netflix for my source of TV & Movies. When Xbox didn’t have those apps I used an awesome service called PlayOn to stream to my Xbox. Now that Xbox has those apps I don’t use PlayOn anymore. Today Major Nelson announced more apps rolling out on Xbox Live so let’s take a look at them. Read the rest of this article…
‘Anomaly: Warzone Earth’ (PSN) Review: A Solid Anti-Tower Defense
Spawn that vehicle! No, repair it! No, arggggh!!
Despite being relatively new to gaming and having a few champions in the form of League of Legends or Fieldrunners, tower defense games are getting a little old. People have tried to change them up, add different units, change the perspective, mod them into games, and put them on every platform possible, but the tower defense design is only so expandable. So what do you do? You flip it on its head, just like Anomoly: Warzone Earth has. It debuted on the PC a little over a year ago, but only recently landed on the shores of PSN, so how does the port handle? Really well, actually.

That’s a house…That a player can build and decorate…MMORGASM!
Dragon’s Prophet, which was announced at SOE Live in October has been opened for beta signups for a little over a week now and we have to assume that they’re getting a lot of interest in the game based on the reactions from SOE Live and various articles and discussions around the web.
So what’s the deal with this game, anyway?
