Dear Occupy Wall Street, You’re Just Wasting Your Time Now
Protests can be very interesting. In countries where they’re restricted or forbidden, they can be powerful enough to lift governments right off their feet. Where they’re systematically permitted and protected, they tend to be far more benign and symbolic. The greatest protest in American history is undoubtedly the Boston Tea Party in which colonists dumped three ships’ worth of tea into the harbor in direct response to external price controls. (If only Occupy Wall Street had thought of it first, eh?) This action was a huge building block for revolutionary rhetoric before the British were ousted in a protracted, bloody war. Occupy Wall Street pretends to be that important – with the vague goal of overhauling (or removing) our capitalistic system – but it’s ultimately a social media-enabled flashmob that’s gone on too far long to be effective.
The Walking Dead Coming to Netflix
Sure it will still be on TV but Netflix has struck an exclusive deal with AMC to allow streaming of The Walking Dead on Netflix. Netflix is struggling to grab as much content as they possibly can after losing more than 600,000 subscribers which investors weren’t to happy about. Read the rest of this article…
The Simpsons May Finally Get Cancelled [UPDATED: SAVED]
The Simpsons started in 1989 and has done 23 seasons with more than 450 episodes and it looks like it may finally come to an end. Why you ask? Money. Everything seems to always develop into a money issue. The Simpsons show has made a lot of money over the years (estimated $3.9 billion) in merchandising and a movie as well as won over 50 awards, became the longest-running American sitcom, the longest-running American animated program, in 2009 longest-running American primetime scripted television series as well as the longest run on sentence, oh that’s just me. Yeah, So…Sons of Anarchy Season 4 Hit A Speedbump – Some Spoilers
I wasn’t too hot over the last episode of season 4 of Sons of Anarchy, if I’m honest. I felt like they spent the entire episode setting things up for later, which they could have done with quick scenes in the other episodes and not wasted a whole hour stirring drama that wasn’t going to come to the surface until later episodes.
NBC Cancels The Playboy Club, WTF!
There has only been three episodes. Three! The ratings fell from 5 million viewers for the first episode down to 3.8 million in the second and 3.2 in this latest one. Advertisers started pulling out in second episode calling it a “commercial disaster” and wanted them to cancel the “degrading and sexualizing program immediately” reported the Hollywood Reporter. Homeland – TV Review – Welcome Home, Marine?
It would’ve been so easy for Homeland to take the easy path; to bank on buzzterms like “PATRIOT Act” and “the War on Terror” when describing the return of Marine Nicolas Brody (Damian Lewis) after being imprisoned by Al Qaeda for eight years. And they don’t – thank God – leaving us to wonder, along with CIA agent Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes), what exactly he was doing over there for so long, and why he’s acting so strangely upon returning home…

What Is Chris Brown’s Problem?
I can’t stand celebrities. No, I’m not talking about Bruce Boxleitner or Max Brooks, I’m talking about Kardashian’s or the Spearses or the Lohan’s. All of this is a lie, of course, because I read The Superficial almost every day and there’s something so addictive about watching these people, through personality flaws, awful parenting, or purely appalling advice from their entourage, melt down so perfectly in such an incredibly public fashion. There is no greater a tragedy of the past few years than Chris Brown, who somehow wins the hearts and affection of so many stupid people despite his violently arrogant personality. But, why can’t he use some of this to his advantage rather than his detriment?
